I was in on it… I could only justify getting one of the big three. I got Rube Waddell , not the other Rube, the Coakley- last surviving member of the 1908 cubs World Series team and Harry Davis- who I can’t believe isn’t a hall of famer.

I had never heard that story about Michael. Sometimes people talk about the good old days, of course it matter what you call the good old days, but people are pretty lucky to be alive today. Although I don't know the whole story, but my guess is he'd lived if he had access to a tablet or two of penicillin. Those early 20th century doctors could do a lot given the limited technology, but once infection set in there was little that could be done.

Prior to the 1930 season. There is some contradictory info on this. I’ve seen Al Lopez credited with it too. I don’t know if Babe had any but I do believe one of his 60 home runs in 1927 was an inside the park homer. Can you imagine how far he had to hit that to score running?! Haha
