He was unique. A truely beautiful man who loved to share his talent and life with us. He loved his dogs and rescued many over the years - very kind to his fans. There are a number of his fan clubs you can join, lovely people and lots of Liberace photos and information.

Yes, that is a sentiment people who knew him always say. He was very generous and loyal - he rescued many dogs - he loved those dogs. Thank you John, you see the man behind the entertainer. Let me know if you want to join the Liberace Fan Club. I don't run it but I am a member - great group of people from all over the world.

@Jeff Skinner Hope you are okay now Jeff. Yes, Lee was a very rare human being - we will never see one like him again. Hope this doesn't sound gloomy but he was unique in so many ways. A deeply religious man as well. Take care and you will see in the message to John Reynolds, you can join a Liberace Fan Club if you would like. Anne.

Strange to see him dressed so conservative, he looks like my crazy uncle.

Like most entertainers there is the public performer and the private person. Liberace dressed more conservatively when he was as home - although he did like colourful clothes - I liked his caftans. This suit is beautifully tailored and looks wonderful on him.

The 15 year old didn't smoke or drink but Liberace sure did, a lot.

Hello Liane, I often notice your comments on the Liberace Fan Clubs we both belong to. I see that Eric didn't go on with his music career - he was very talented too. As for Liberace - he always had a cigarette - I think they didn't know the health problems with this lifestyle in those days. Anne xx
Liberace appeared twice on Donahue - this one is about 1985. He looks wonderful - love his suit. xx

@@chriscreek2649Yes you are right. The show must be after August 1985. Because during a visit to a private clinic in August'85 he was told the diagnosis. In the face he already looked a little narrower. The eyes show a sadness that he tried to hide. He smiles for a short time and speaks, then smiles again and speaks, while he speaks the eyes are fixed and he looks downcast. I'm not a fan of Liberace because I used to listen more to Ricard Clayderman as a young adolescent. But one can see that the disease is far beyond the early stages. The face is less chubby and the eyes are sad, no matter how often he smiles. The eyes are the mirror of the soul.

Hello, It is amazing that I found this episode of Donahue about 30 years after recording it on video. Was going through my old videos and was so pleased to see I still had it plus another Liberace on Donahue done a few years before this appearance. Any noise is probably from the fact that this video is so old - maybe deterioration in the sound quality. Hope you enjoy it anyway and doesn't Lee look wonderful in that suit. This appearance was about 6 months before he died. Beautiful man. xx
