Hello Darren, I video taped this many years ago and went through my old tapes recently and found I still had this Donahue Show with Liberace and Eric Hamelin. So glad you enjoyed it - Liberace was such a lovely, kind and generous man. Are you in the Liberace Fan Club - if not you can apply to join, a very nice group of people . Many of them knew Liberace and have photos and information that we have never seen. If you want to join - let me know and I will send you the link. Kind regards Anne x

@@davidmckinney6577 when I went to Apple store; Genius Bar guy routed FB thru google:). So my old iPhone 6 + isn’t overloaded. It doesn’t work exactly like the App but very close. Hope you get on FB. I’m 69 and Ill so I use it a lot. There’s so many groups one can join. I think I’ll try to join a Liberace group today:) I saw L in Vegas once. It was so incredible. He had a water fountain machine across the huge mgm stage!!! As he played the waterfall went up and down and colored lights were embedded in it too! Just incredibly beautiful show:)

The Liberace fan clubs have a few people who knew Liberace. Terry Clarkson was the assistant who would take Lee's fur coat on stage. He and others have nothing but positive things to say about him. Always missed. Anne.

It was my good fortune to have gone to see him perform in Las Vegas.:) I believe it was at the MGM stage; and the show I saw had a magnificent water fountain machine that flowed across that huge stage up and down to a straus waltz if I remember ,,, plus it incorporated lights with the changing of the fountain- just breathtakingly beautiful.

Hello Brent, A member of the Liberace Fan Club mentioned a couple of years ago that Eric had basically given away his music career and is married with a family - he would be around 50 now.

@@susannahleigh26 how sad. He was so talented. I'm glad to know that he is still living but maybe it was too much stress to try and become a classical pianist. I hope he still plays for his family and friends. I wondered, because I have never seen anything written about him in any books.
For some reason, I do not care for this particular music! It is not normal standard Liberace repertoire which I adore.

So this interview would have been shortly before his death, no? Didn't Lee die when he was 67? Anybody know when this interview took place?

Thank you Ken - Liberace was on the Donohue show twice in the 80's. This was the last time and about 1986 - he died in 1987 aged 67. If you are interested in Liberace let me know if you would like to join one of his fan clubs. Many people from around the world are members and are very nice fans who love Liberace and his legacy.

His very last appearance was at Christmas Dec. 23, 1986 on the Oprah Winfrey show which is posted here on KZitem. He died in February just 2 months later after that appearance

@@nashvilletennessee3194 It must have been very hard for Liberace to perform for Oprah - however it is so bitter, sweet to see him and watch him play the Christmas medley for the last time. Beautifully done - and a perfect performance. Thank you for your comments - you could look into joining the Liberace Fan Clubs - lovely people - all just enjoying his legacy and the essence of the man .
