Just made the mistake of installing a cheap knockoff that was too long. Save yourself and get the right part.

Loved the video except the fact that you didnt show you routing the new cable up over the steering knuckle. I must be bigger then you plus i have a bad back and i cant even get up under the dash to see that 12mm bolt that the cable goes thru that spring thing to help take cable over the steering knuckle

Good video and it helped me route through the under carriage. Parts house sent me the wrong cable about 6” too short on second half so I routed a bit different. The staple clip to bushing is the correct distance and same amount of movement so I think it’ll work.Unfortunately once mid section is connected I don’t think it can be separated again. GM 10217245 is what GM said after I gave them vin number.

Not sure what you mean by cable on the left. You've got the upper half that connects to the shifter and the lower half that goes on the transmission. Top piece is a real bear to get back in. Should be the same on an 04 as an 03.

Clarifying that on the adjuster the threads are at almost the end when the clips pushed down and that cover is slid over?

Only asking because I've replaced once and no matter how I adjusted it it kept randomly slipping and coming undone but I had the threads almost in the middle halfway with the clip on

If I remember correctly, at 7:01 you have to remove the white retainer and there is a groove for the small e-clip to clip on. After that both sides of the cable should press fit together.
