I know the 3v has been forgotten since the release of the coyote. 05-10 gt are so cheap now, plus the supercharger kits are not that expensive. I've seen the 3v with around 75000 miles going for $5-6000. Just a idea guys. Great video like always

4-5 grand isn't cheap. Especially when you spend 7k on the whole car.
@BrenspeedEngineering
2 жыл бұрын
If you are basing the price of parts off of the cars value you prob do not want (and should not) to mod it. I mean you can spend 45K on an S550 and put $15k in it for a total of 60K and feel good you only put 15k in your 45k car. But in the end you have 60k in it so what does the price of the car vs mods have to do with anything. These are not investments... these are things that make you smile and enjoy life. You could put 10K in your 7k 3V and have 17K in it. 17k vs 60k... which is better it depends on the persons mentality/budget. Who knows it depends what somebody is comfortable with. Anybody that is worried about the base cars value vs. what you spend to mod it probably should not be modding the car in the first place. Thanks for watching and commenting we appreciate it!

Are the intercoolers strongly recommended for long drives and racing? Will it cause any heating issues if I do not install an intercooler? I am in the hot midwest summers.
@BrenspeedEngineering
2 жыл бұрын
You will not have engine over heat issues if that is what you mean. Intercooled is always better in the long run for super hot days. Not because they are safer just because the cooler the intake temps the more power you make and the more timing the engine will run. The non intercooled kits are the most popular because of price point. Also they are upgradeable meaning you can go non intercooled now and then just add the intercooler to the kit later.

Nice video 🔥🔥. Quick question how much power can stock heads hold on the 3v’s? Ive heard it can handle a 1000hp without porting the heads.
@BrenspeedEngineering
2 жыл бұрын
Im not saying that is impossible but not really realistic for most people. We typically do 800 rwhp with those heads but with porting and upgraded valvetrain. Its pretty hard to hit 1000 rwhp with that platform reliably.

Here are a couple links to intercooled kits. So first of all non intercooled means no intercooler. Vortech Brenspeed HO with a liquid cooled supercharger. Read details in the link. www.brenspeed.com/v3vortechhoblk.html Paxton Brenspeed Novi 2200 with an intercooler that is air to air cooled. Air passing through the front of the car cools the intake temps www.brenspeed.com/paxtonsatinsl.html

I have a 2005Mustang GT automatic with the non-intercooled Vortech. I believe that it makes 6 lbs of boost. The engine is otherwise stock except for a set of shorty headers. My setup is giving me 365 rwhp on 93 octane. Does that sound about right for my setup or should I be making considerably more rwhp?

Normally MPG does not change much as long as you are not hammering it all the time. Some get more MPG and some report slightly less. Really depends on driving style.

Paxton Novi 2200 Brenspeed package if budget allows. If not NON HO non intercooled Paxton or Vortech. Much better drivability than a procharger and will do the job to make killer power.

I see that it has a aftermarket hood. Is it a cervini? Just curious if their hood with the optional under hood air duct that routes the air to the cold air filter work with this setup 🤔. Just wondering about clearance.
@BrenspeedEngineering
2 жыл бұрын
Sorry I can't recall if that had the inner duct or not. I know we had no issues. FYI just for some tech info some ram air hoods you need to block off the duct at the filter area when running an open filter. It can cause MAF wash and an unstable idle when rolling up to a stop. Just depends on the type of duct and where the filter ends up being located. Just some random info to put out...
@terrywalker9092

@@BrenspeedEngineering There wasn't one. Just wanted to know if there is clearance for one? But sounds it's not a good idea to have one when it has to much air. Just thought it would act like a intercooler with fresh outside air being directed to the area of the cold air filter. 🤔

We did a test for Vortech years ago when the self contained units came out. The test was to see when the oil slinger in the self contained units would break. I believe at about 680 rwhp the oil slinger blew apart. So basically if anybody has a goal of 700 you would want oil fed not self contained. Also if the goal was 700 you want the Novi 2200 as a starting point not the V3. Pretty hard to get to 700 with a 1200 head unit (A 1200 is the V3).

Hey, quick question how much lag would the 2200 paxton with inner cooled be? Come paired to like a root or twin screw supercharger
@BrenspeedEngineering
Жыл бұрын
I would not call it lag is in having no low end like some big turbo's. BUT a 2200 starts building boost at 2500-2700 rpm. So like all Centri style superchargers that boost builds with RPM so max boost is whenever you leave off the throttle at redline.

We can its just the lead times are super long right now. 326 blocks have been on back order for months and months. We are hoping FRPP will have the blocks available again this year. We may have to back to the 302 if the iron boss block we use in the 326 keeps getting pushed back.
