This is the 2nd video I've seen on this Yama. There is no shift linkage? You just drop the lower unit?

There is a shift linkage. There is a yoke that the lower linkage slips into. It just slips out and back in. Thank you for watching

What are you using for the grease? Just lower unit oil?

Using a good marine grease, it is only to help remove the gaskets on future repairs

When I put it all back together my throttle wouldn’t go into reverse ideas?

Sounds like the alignment of the linkage may have moved while you had it down. May need to drop the lower unit again to reset the alignment.

Why do you need to shift it into forward? Why not leave it in neutral? Also do you live near a railroad? sounds like you got a lot of trains coming by. lol

I place the gear in forward for 2 reasons. The gear has a natural tendency to go into forward. Does not take much to knock it into forward from neutral. 2nd. When reinstalling sometimes you will need to turn the shaft just a little to get the shaft spline aligned to the engine. With the lower unit in forward you just turn the prop to get the shaft aligned with the engine.
