Great video! I followed step by step to change mine yesterday. However, I changed my water pump too. If I may, I'm fairly mechanically inclined, but it would help tremendously if you could identify steps like, step 1 remove the powe steering hoses, step 2 remove ecu, etc. (Maybe add to the description?) Also if you could take a moment to show what part you're removing before you do. I realize if the backyard mechanic doesn't know what the part is by it's name, it's probably too big of a job for them. But it would help people trying to follow along. Don't get me wrong, great video and thanks for posting! You saved me 1k in labor. 😁😁😁 Have a great one!

Thanks man, my video making at the moment is like least effort possible haha. Also I don't really stick to steps being I know exactly what needs to happen and kind of just do it, but I see what you mean. The next belt I do I'll be sure to specify steps :)

I mean....thanks for the effort. I believe the whole reason to film this procedure would be to educate us. The video is "somewhat" informative but the viewer is put in a position of just watching you from a distance with little explanations and poor audio. So I say "What's the point"? No offense but I got very little out of it and moved on to other videos. Again, Thanks for your effort.

I don't do youtube full time, I'm a full time technician. You're right i post videos for no other purpose than to educate anyone either curious or going to attempt this repair. This video includes every important detail required to do this job, so I'm not sure where you get the idea of it being "somewhat" informative, and got very little out of it. Maybe you need to watch it again, good luck.

I used to work on classic cars for a living, so I can follow along and get what I need to do the job efficiently which is all I'm looking for. A decent home mechanic should be able to do the same, but everyone is at different levels of competency I guess. Thanks for putting this out for us!

great vid. is it necessary to support the motor when removing the left motor mount?
@brokedickgarage3840

No, the passenger motor mount is just essentially a torque preventer. It doesn't support the engine in any way.

When does that mean that the motor wouldn't turn over I mean it would turn over but it wouldn't start because we're thinking it's a fuel pump but it could be that and the motor won't start and it was clicking we just couldn't figure out where it was coming from with that be the timing belt tensioner or not

Unless I see crusty coolant around it or you have reason to believe it's leaking, typically the Honda pump won't leak

how many miles did it have? .. belt looked ok... thanks for vid!

Not sure. I believe roughly 110k. Honda recommends them every 100kish.

do you think the belt would last long time still.. maybe it would go another 100,000
@diablofocker1

These belts can usually last 200k miles honestly. But the engine is an interference engine, so the idea is to replace the belt BEFORE it has a chance to grenade the motor. Don't push your luck, just replace the belt.

Why not just use chains. What idiot thought it was a good idea to use a rubber belt as a timing "chain."
@brokedickgarage3840

I think the concept was that belts and chains are both going to wear, but belts are pliable, and have retension from stretching, they're also an easy and cheaper preventative maintenance, to be done every 100k miles. Whereas metal chains do not have the same qualities, and require lubrication, which typically involves alot more work to be serviced, which means alot more money.

WATER PUMP ALWAYS

Do as you like. In the 3 years I specialized in honda I've only ever replaced one water pump on a v6 honda engine that was leaking, and it was an aftermarket pump.

Where can I purchase a Torque Multiplying Socket? You are 100% right that a standard impact and socket won't get the bolt out.

Amazon, 20 bucks

Do I need to purchase that 50mm crank pulley tool to hold the crank while installing the crank bolt or can I just hit it with a impact?
@diablofocker1

I have that tool and always just use the 19mm high torque socket. You can get one on Amazon for 20$. A regular socket and impact will not break the crank bolt loose.
