We used this video to help us change our alternator and save us some bucks on labor! It was the best one we viewed. One thing we noticed that if the alternator housing falves are not perfectly aligned, the top and bottom bolts may not screw into the engine. We had to pull it out and use a mallet to tap the new housing halves into alignment so the screws would go in.

My ‘13 will not turn over unless I use jumper cables (already replaced the battery with a brand new yellow top). Without a boost off the dash flickers with dim lights. I thought about doing it myself, but I don’t like the idea of messing with the tension belt or the clips on the housing. Looks like it’s going to the dealership. Good video.

@boogiesgarage1

This is a 4 cylinder but as far as the difference i’d say it’ll just be where the alternator is located since its placed differently on v6 engines other than that it’ll be the same procedures sort of.

The biggest problem I had replacing the alternator in my car was the defective parts. The first alternator had a bad casting that wouldn't allow the mounting bolts to go through. The second alternator had a pulley that wouldn't align with the belt. The third alternator was a rebuilt one because they parts store didn't have new ones in stock and didnt know when they'd get any in. It was towed to the dealer where it was replaced. After three days of struggling to replace it on my days off and not getting anywhere I decided the dealer would replace it.

Thanks for the video. I'm currently going through some weird readings for the battery. Autozone Place says my battery is dead, the other place says my alternator and battery is fine but something ripple effect. My car is 2017 lx with 29k miles, I usually sit in my car to eat lunch at work, so I use the cig socket for charging a lot. Also I have leds that do not have a ballast...could this affect my battery and alternator? Will the dealership cover them? P.s should I take out LEDs lol before I go there for a diagnoses! I'm glad I could watch this video for my maintenance knowledge but I'm still weary why hondas battery dies around 36k, just like Subarus.
