I still farm my place with all of the old equipment. 5 of my 15 tractors are Allis Chalmers and my D19 gas is my favorite and that and my D17 probably get used more than anything else on the farm

I agree the D-19 was a gas hog. Our D-17 had more lugging power. Have been told the D-19 diesels had a lot of power. Still have our D-19 for the adjustable hitch and I still use it for odd jobs. In fact spread about 250 acres of urea with it this spring and another 90 acres of other fertilizer on the soybean ground. It never fails to start even at -25 below

I know a guy who had a d19 gas He told me that if you ran it all day it would burn between 50 -60 gallons of gas a day

Never worked it in the field, but had a gas D19 on a feed wagon for years. It was terrible thirsty. Started come hell or high water and ran like a top. Asked an old neighbor that had one about fuel consumption. “If you head to the field at 8am, you’d better bring along a 5 gallon can of gas to get back home for lunch”!
