I'm currently debating which sc to put on my 2018 denalli. These videos are so good I'm thinking I can do this myself in 2-3 days after already having the front end off for some other items as well as removing and reinstalling an sc on my taco multiple times. Thank you!

The removal of the front end and the intercooler is the most time consuming part. 3 days would be plenty of time.

Thanks for the reply! I pulled the front grill off to paint the denalli chrome grill black and put some piaa lights on I mounted on the bumper. Turned out to take most of the day for that as I installed a cai at the same time. I usually take whatever folks say is the install time and then double it. Nothing seems to go the way it's supposed to anymore but I've got a spare vehicle and lots of time so why not?

I’ve been watching this playlist for the last couple of weeks as I prep to install my super charger. Thanks for the detailed videos! My question is - where else can you put the over flow tank? Does it need to stay in the position they recommend, I don’t have the factory bumper but a pre runner type bumper.

Very curious with the air filter not being isolated to where the cool air is coming from the fender, with that big of intake is it sucking hot engine bay air and reducing your horsepower?!?
@sferg9582
4 жыл бұрын
Every time I see that filter just sitting in the engine bay like that I think the exact same thing. Kinda defeats the intercooler purpose. Sucking in the hot air is the worst thing, and you generally try to avoid at all costs doing that. Some will even go to the length of insulating the inlet pipe to the throttle body.

Congratulations on your Whipple!! Question... is the horse power gain worth the money compared to similar gains for less money? 1). NOS 2). Tune 3). Cam I was going to buy one my self until I researched other mods with same or better gains for a fraction of the cost. I’m asking so I can get a real answer Incase I’m missing something. Nos is usually a track only application. Cam will net you half the power with reduced drive ability and mpg, a tune alone or even with the others is still half the gains and with the others 1/2 the price, not a fraction as you suggest.

Preston, do you know what the plastic sleeves are for in the MAF holder? Did you use either one of them? Bty, excellent video's. I wish you had did them back in 2018. I sent my truck to LMR for the Whipple Supercharger which is in your area. I had the 800 HP kit installed on my 2017 Silverado with the 6.2. Ended up with 652 whp 648 lbs. Now I want more and your video's are giving me the confidence to do the fuel upgrade my self. They ran out of fuel when they did the 800 HP kit.

My short/longterm trims were all red +10 to +34. With the sleeve in its green rich -5 to -20 and higher. I'm upgrading the in tank pump, fuel lines, injectors, smaller pulley and a custom tune. To anyone in the comment section. I’m looking at an 18 Silverado with a whipped supercharger in it. The guy wants 32k for it with 45k miles on it. If I get this would it be a reliable truck to daily drive and take on a lot of highway miles because of the supercharger ?

I've watched your videos on this build. Especially paying more particular attention to the one of you installing the ZR1 throttle body where you pointed out leaks. I've checked those areas and all seem to be fine there. One possible culprit that lingers at the back of my mind is MAYBE the seal between the two halves of the Whipple. My best guess is to take it all apart and assemble again which is what I dread. I'll have dive a little deeper. Thanks for the reply! I've enjoyed your channel, giving me inspiration!

@@jway156 Yep, you are right about that giant O-ring. I pinched mine towards the rear at one point and it leaked. It helps if you grease the O-ring a little. Another thing to check might be the bypass valve. I have mine adjusted fairly tight with those two hex adjusting screws. Belt slip can also give a "surge" feeling....ask me how I know....haha
@jway156

Ha! I had belt slippage too, not too long after install. That for sure checks out. I'll play with the bypass valve this weekend and if that doesn't change anything, then I'll definitely separate the two halves and check out the gigantic o-ring. I was hoping, later on down the road, if I ever took the Whipple apart, I would upgrade to the LT4 fuel pump at the very least. Thanks again!
