In this video, I change the oil and oil filter for my 2014 Mustang V6. It’s a very simple process that can easily be done at home with basic tools. In the video, I use Rhino Ramps to get my car elevated in the air. A jack on the passenger side also works just as good, but I do prefer the ramps due to how easy they are to use for this. Just make sure you have some very heavy weights or a wall/curb to support them against.
Oil and filter cost me about $30 after tax from Walmart, so saves a few bucks by doing it yourself and helps you learn more about your mustang.
Towards the end of the video, I show the UPR Oil catch can I use to help catch the oil that would be going directly into my intake and engine. The way this engine is designed, it recycles fuel fumes from the valve covers into the intake to help with MPG. The only issue is the oil that gets sucked up as well and can eventually sludge up your engine really bad with oil.
In the video, I had waited 5,000 miles before dumping out the oil in the catch can. So just after 5,000 miles you can see how much this thing catches from going into my engine. Now just imagine 100,000+ miles, and how much oil your engine has had to had to burn up and sludge inside of it. For $60+ these oil catch can spy for themselves in how much more life your engine is going to get having one.
Everything used in the video to complete the job.
