2017 Nissan Pathfinder won IIHS safety award and was rated best family car by Kelly Bluebook last year. But now the 2017 Nissan pathfinder has dropped 30% in value in less than 1 year to $20,000. Yet the newest models are selling at full value of $34,000.00 just like the NEW 2017 models were. Most new cars loose about 6%-19% value but these vehicles loose 30% value according to the company (Kelly Blue Book) that promotes them and gives them awards.

I would Personally choose either the Toyota Highlander or the Cx9. I like the CX9 for its premium interior and fun to drive nature. I like the Highlander because it's super smooth, has less wind and road noise than the Mazda, and will outlast any of its competitors by a long shot. If regularly maintained, they can go 300,000+ miles. I wouldn't touch a Honda because their transmissions are a hit and miss and I hear a lot of people complaining about the infotainment system .

Brian Lawrance This CX9 is quieter, specially one with 18" wheels is super quiet, most importantly drives soooo much more composed, and flat out better than anything else here....Sorry Toyota driving dynamics are not comparable . also comfort is superbly balanced with handling on new CX9 . Turbo is a real treat , also technologies overall are much more advanced than other cars here.... Seats are very good , just could use longer cushion , only for those 6ft and taller.... still more comfy than Toyota.

I conducted my own comparison last month on 2017 models (I buy used) and the Nissan Pathfinder was the winner! It had the best combination of comfort, practicality, and value. I bought an S certified model. Honestly, it's a bit Spartan, but I traded some features for warranty at a price point I could afford. Close second went to the Highlander,which lost out on cost and rear seat. The 8 passenger claim is a joke! Just for the record,the Explorer wasn't as comfortable for me as driver and had a tiny screen, and the Traverse has second row seats that sit right on the floor! My 3rd went to the Durango,which was sporty and roomy, but that sporty aggressive look made me, at 6 2.5, feel claustrophobic, and at 48, I'm not willing to trade practicality for looks anymore. CX9 was the only one in this comparo I did not drive. I have a friend with one she loves, but they are rare, there isn't a Mazda dealer close by, and it's designed for people who want a 2 row with sweats in the back if they ever need them.

Cheaply made? How so? What particular Hyundai are you referencing? All low-end models use cheap products to some degree. Toyota used cheap "aluminum type" dash materials for years. The Highlander got some poor reviews for headroom and is nearly impossible for a 5'10" adult/adolescent to fit in without their knees in their chest. However they have great resale value if that's important. As for reliability....I have a 6 year old Sonata with very minimal issues and received an increased engine warranty to compensate for the one they found. Hyundai has done an about-face over the last few years and are producing very competitive products. Toyota and Honda have been producing vehicles a lot longer, so you'd expect them to still be light years ahead, but they are not. As a friend of mine said, you can't go wrong buying a product from a country with a 93% literacy rate.
@Fro_Low
6 жыл бұрын
Sam Bartoszek I didn’t say they were better, you did. Toyota and Honda outsell Hyundai because they have a larger market share as they have been producing vehicles longer and have built a reputation. All I said to start this thread was that it was surprising the Sante Fe didn’t make the video considering how much it has improved in performance and characteristics. It had gotten very good reviews from other auto blogs. Hyundai cannot compete with the Odyssey because they don’t make a van and as far as your 2001 4-runner, Hyundai’s 2001 Sante Fe’s are still going as well. It’s obvious you are a Honda die-hard and probably just going off of what you’ve read or heard, instead of actually driving one first.
