9:41 What you see here is not "a loose track". Tracks can not run tight. The ground compaction under the left side of the crane is sinking and the right track is picking up. They are trying to crawl the left track up onto a more stable surface, the timbers. At this point the operator is worrying about over turning the crane. He is doing "Back and fills" to try to turn left onto the more solid road surface.Those are not plywood sheets, they are steel. This is what happens when there is no sub surface prep and roads are just laid down.

Strange design... there’s no suspension on the track, so any surface curved negative or positive will lift a large portion of the track rails away from the ground, defeating the purpose of the track in spreading the load and increasing traction. I understand why you want no suspension on the track when lifting... but you would think it would have hydraulic jacks to make the track bogies more ground conforming for MOVING the crane. Like every army tank and bulldozer.

@starshipbocachica
3 жыл бұрын
Is there another way to house the track without the over torquing? It must of slid in the soft sand is all I can gather that caused the track to disengage. Or maybe the approach was wrong? I've always taken loads past the turn, then back up the hill or in this case swing around to have a straight run up to pad. I didn't understand the dilemma when I arrived so I can't say how it happened but they did the normal and right attack to get out of it and that is all that counts. Shit just happens sometimes and mass tonnage doesn't stop when you put the breaks on. Ships don't have breaks or painted lines to follow but the law of tonnage always wins.
