Kinda reminds me of the 80's when Ford had the mustang SVO, I live 10 min from Nazareth (PA), Michael Andretti had a 86 or 87 SVO (turbo) that he had worked up (Engine and some suspension and brakes), looked stock on the outside, but extremely fast. So I can imagine this will be even better. I had a 85 GT, my brother has a 66 fastback with the engine you already mentioned. Thanks for the review!

Not really bits and pieces of the RS focus motor cause it is the same motor just tuned to be rwd. They kept it lower in power so it wouldn’t be faster than a GT. Due to it being lighter from having a smaller engine If you want to save money and build a up a car then this is it. For the extra money you’d pay for a GT you can put a tune and a few bolt on’s this and actually be faster than a Stock GT with better fuel economy. People hate on the 2.3 motor but forget that the SVO mustang GT from the 80’s was the fastest GT you could buy and it was a 2.3 liter turbo not a 5.0.

7:05 Like what you did there Sam! 👍 I like the overall style inside-out especially the simple manual tech of the cabin. My only takeaway is the engine; if Ford didn’t replace the Duratec 37 engine and just bumped it up with those or better put the F-150 Raptor D35 engine. Ford’s V6 engines are more reliable than their inline ones.
@ChasingDifferentAdventures
4 жыл бұрын
I agree the V6 Naturally Aspirated, or Super Charged engines are more reliable. Turbos are connected to the Down Pipe, which is connected to the exhaust system for back flow pressure to spool the turbines. Back flow coming from exhaust leads to Carbon Build Up Thus, locking Turbo Blades and internal veins, restricting air and boost. From my experience I learned the hard way, it was great for 3.5 years (after factory warranty ended) fuel mileage average was 32 mpg and dropped significantly to 8 mpg to 12 mpg.

"Bits and pieces from the Focus RS motor"? I thought they were shipping the whole RS long-block from Spain. I wouldn't care so much that it's only 4 cylinders, if it sounded muscular. I've heard a stock 4-banger sound pretty raunchy: My friend's Neon SRT-4 with a straight pipe actually sounded more or less like a muscle car. Stock cams, manifold, turbocharger... It wasn't that loud, but had a nice sound to it. ...So I thought the Ecoboost HPP had potential to sound really good, and in that respect I'm disappointed with it. It looks like the exhaust runners are cast into the cylinder head, and I wonder if that's the reason it sounds bad. With 350 lb-ft of torque, and hardly anyone complaining about turbo lag, I wanted like this engine.
