Thanks for the video. I'm looking to buy a '23 tx300. I currently have a '19 300xc. I'm a man at 5'3" so this is important to me🙂. I ride enduro and cross country. I'm happy to get toes of one foot on the ground. On my 300xc I shaved a 1/2" of ktm's low seat and lowered the bikes suspension 1". Still can only touch tips of toes.

so glad I found your channel. I sold my 2020 TX300 and wanted a 23 TX 300 (but dont want to mix gas) and was wondering about the suspension vs the SX anx XC 300...how do they compare in the whoop section between the 3? Not sure where your at but I might be interested in the TX 300 if its a herritage edition.

So I have both bikes now and I can tell you the SX is very stiff compared to the xc/tx. I don’t think the tx or xc is handicapped on the track at all compared to the tx. I had to have my valving on the shock softened up a bit on the sx. Out of the box on the track I prefer the tx / xc over the sx in stock trim. The softer valving spec seems better to me when matched with the right spring rate for your weight. This is one year where the xc / tx are a lot closer to the Moto bike then previous years. If you are over 170lbs on either bike you will want to go up on the rear spring rate. Overall these TBI bikes are amazing, best bike I’ve owned to date.

@@moto-x where we ride the trails are sandy and super deep and long whoop sections...only suspension setup I can find to work for me is stock SX suspension or getting suspension revalved to be SX like. The big issue on my 17, 18, and 2020 300s was the rear shock valving...like a pogo stick. If that was fixed on the 2023 it would be perfect for me.

@andybj4091 At first I was disappointed with the braketecs on the tx, but their actually decent. What’s more of an issue is off the dealer floor they’re not all set equally so some feel like garbage. Pull off the wheel push the piston further out the re-bleed. Brembos are definitely firmer though and I can understand wanting those.

@@gordonstimmel4590 Yes. On the rear brake system, I just changed the rear cylinder reservoir only for the rear brake to allow me to use a Rekluse LHRB, and then the clutch lever/master to Brembo. Rear brake cyclinder bolt holes and fitment is the same, braketec or brembo. Then its just banjo connectors. The braketec clutch lever/reservoir is a boat anchor compared to the brembo. Looks like a 70’s design.

I just got one recently. Get the 250 for sure. It is way more fun unless you do extreme enduro. Its also faster in the woods. I was 300 from the beginning. Two youtube riders rode the new 250 and 300 back to back and both of them said the 250 was way more fun. Plus the dealership who had both to sell me said the 250 is the way to go for our terrain. Did your '23 TX300 come with an o-ring chain? My '23 300XC came with the DID VT2 x-ring chain while the TX300's I've seen at dealers have regular chains.

@@leftyeh6495 Agree. However KTM/Husky off road models usually come with a DID VT2 narrow x-ring chain that would easily go 40+ hours and require few adjustments. The non o-ring chains can be worn out in 12~15 hours and require frequent adjustments.

Looking to downgrade from a FE350 to a 2 stroke. Would you know if a 300 with maps to make it less rip your arms off aggressive be better than a 150-250 for woods riding ? Scared that at 200lbs the 150 won’t do well learning double blips and climbing hills but don’t want to make the mistake again of getting a bike that’s too powerful.
@davidb9323

Do you ever ride woods like Hopev ?
@moto-x
Жыл бұрын
Hi David, the 300 in map 1 is actually a very capable but not terribly aggressive bike, especially the Husqvarna TX. I have a buddy who is just under 200lbs and he rides a 150 without issue in the woods. On some large hills or deep loamy sections he sometimes wishes he had a little more low end grunt. I think a 300 with the added torque and low end grunt would be a great choice when left in map 1. The Ktm will be slightly more aggressive then the husky because of the opened up grab handle section so I think the TX would be an excellent choice for you. Map 1 is really smooth and linear throughout, very predictable, controllable power. I have ridden there a few times a few years ago but not recently. Maybe we’ll meet up this spring as soon as the snow melts a little more and you can try the tx if I still have mine.

When should i change the piston on my 23 tx300? 125 hours too much? Go with stock piston?
@moto-x
Жыл бұрын
This is subjective and will vary based on the type of riding you do, etc. Manual calls for 15 hours, though unless you're WO most of the time on a MX track I would lean towards 30-50 hours. In the past I would purchase a stock OEM KTM / HUSKY top end, which is made by Vertex. However, on the 23's under high revs, the back of the piston skirt hits the crankshaft! Manufacturer is aware. Either machine 2mm off the skirt or order a VERTEX new piston (not the OEM vertex) which comes with a shorter skirt. They are backordered at the moment though.

Correct, the tc250 has stop limiters in the fork and shock, different knuckle, different pull rod. Seat height is 37.01 on the tc vs 37.32 on the tx300. What in the world... the tx has an 18" rear wheel. The sx has a 19" that's the difference in height. How could you not catch that? The sx is a motocross bike. The tx is a race Enduro bike. Lighter than its tpi brother the te 250/300. Different purpose bike. They don't claim to be the same. These things are usually caught before picking up an 11,000 bike. Why I went TE and not TX.

You realize that an 18-inch tire and a 19-inch tire have approximately the same overall diameter right? That’s not the difference in the height… you might have misunderstood the video a bit.
