Thats about what I experienced. 60-70 miles on a stock tank and 100-110 miles on a 3.2 gal Acerbis tank at fast desert speeds

What do enjoy riding more offroad the 350 or 500?
@raceprovisions
9 ай бұрын
350 for sure but my focus is racing not trail riding. It feels so much lighter and has better power. It needs to be ridden aggressively which is the only downside compared to the 500 which you can relax on, it’s more like a big couch. If you wanted to do single track and double track to see the sights, go 500. If you want to see how hard you can go and focus on the ride/pace, go 350

Sorry, just to be clear, you can race the 500 in a standard enduro race and still be competitive, it will just make you work harder to do so. I’ve got a whole series on the 500 on my other KZitem channel SourceADV - look for the 500 do it all playlist. Cheers!

Hey, man, awesome channel. What’s your opinion of the suspension on this bike? For single track/ Enduro? Is it overly firm? Have you had the bike re sprung and valved? I’m stuck between one of these or YZ450fx…
@raceprovisions
Жыл бұрын
The suspension is epic for 3/4th gear consistent riding.. so real XC focus. In slightly slower or faster stuff its a little to harsh on the slow stuff and too soft on the fast stuff. The KYB on the Yamaha will have a broader range and can be made almost perfect with some work from a suspension shop. I already went to a Raven fork swap on the 350 and revalved the rear. Made a ton of difference. The Yamaha will ride a lot heavier feeling, the 350 feels like a light 2T in the turns and has a ton of stability when you need it, and you can stay in one gear sooo long which is the biggest change I noticed from other 4T bikes. It has plenty of grunt down low with a little clutch work, but each gear pulls a crazy wide amount because of the 13K redline. At least the suspension issues on the KTM are curable. Yamaha needs to make a 350... the 250FX is 8 HP shy of the 350, which would be too little if you are 180#+ guy. My 2 cents, hope it helps!

Any updates on the bike looks like your running the Mako 360. Did it help with any vibration?

Yeah man, the Mako is great, takes all vibes out of the bars. I’m running the Raven forks by MX tech, they are great too.

Excellent video. How do you think this bike would do in the dunes at Glamis or somewhere similar? Would it be underpowered at all?
@raceprovisions
9 ай бұрын
No way man it is epic in sand, it revs so high for a 4 stroke. You just pay for it in top end rebuilds around 120 hours, where as the 450 you can probably get a fair amount more

That’s great to hear man. I’m on the fence between this bike and the 2023 KTM 450 SX-F and it’s a really tough call
@raceprovisions

The 350 is going to be better in 95% of scenarios, it’s such a good bike and has more power than most 450’s of about 5 years ago, it just develops that power over a much wider range of RPM which means you shift a ton less. It’s the perfect 4 stroke bike

Oh, definitely get the ‘24 too, ‘23 air fork is extremely narrow with what it works for. It’s good if all you are doing is GNCC/Hare Scrambles

I really wanted the xcf and was set on it because I'm just getting back into riding and would like to hit a motocross track if I wanted. Most of my time will be on single track and trails so I went with the 2023 xcfw 450. I'm having buyers remorse and I havnt even rode the bike yet or is even in my possession. I pick it up this week already paid for. Can u comment at all about your exc at all on a moto track just for funnsies opposed to differences between exc and xcf on the trail and in the woods?
@raceprovisions
Жыл бұрын
The XCFw with a Get ECU from taco moto and a serious suspension makeover is just as capable as the 350 depending on your riding. Best money you can spend is on the suspension. The stock stuff just can’t hang on rough trail, let alone the track. Cheers

That's pretty solid. My 300 TPI gets about the same MPG riding single track in the forests. The milage has gotten better as i've progressed as a rider. I spend a lot more time in 3rd gear, smoother inputs, better flow, and the unintended consequence is about a 15% increase in range.
