One thing about the RCFs in general is the SPDS trans certainly needs to be warmed up its not a ZF8 it requires a temp period. Upon my testing of a TVD & TE/FUJI they all have to be warmed up so to speak. The 3.13 gears also experienced only in the newer RCFs 2020+ & TEs/Fujis are also a nice advantage over the other bits if your tracking them out of the bends acceleartion wise. Its a great package fell in love with them...however i agree the car needs to ditch the 4Ss and go Cup2s with larger fronts and in my view go with a squared setup and you will experience dare i say "amazing".

The 3.13:1 gears are standard on all 2020+ RCFs. It was done primarily to keep 0-60 mph of around 4 seconds in Europe the same where RCF lost power down to 457 HP from 472 HP due to EU emissions. It is not not just the Fuji. It is just lighter with weight reduction. There are no mechanical differences.

@@2ZZGE100 You are incorrect my apologies partially. Its not just the TEs and Fujis which is correct but you said "all RCFs which is not correct. The correct data is all 2019+ models 3.13:1 final drive ratio became standard actually and is mechanically different ratio-wise than prior than 2019 models. As you well know this affects acceleration which is a performance difference. A ratio to put it in lamens terms a ratio of rotation thus making it a "mechanical" difference. Prior to 2019 models they were 2.94:1. This was mentioned directly from Lexus and many RCF owners who track their cars....shocked you didn't know that. Odd. Let me shoot you an old reference. media.lexus.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/pdf/220201M-RC-F-Press-Pack.pdf. Any time you raise a gear ratio it's always a mechanical difference/change it's not a software change. Appreciate your enthusiasm for the RCF. You are right about tires and the smaller front tires. RCF from factory, is criminally under-tired considering the weight. Some of the competitors have 305 mm slicks up front and we have a 255 mm soft sidewall tires up front. It needs super aggressive tires on OEM staggered and/or a square setup in order to prevent overload of sidewalls. I own a CF/TVD and have had it for 7 years now (mine is a 2016). I mod it as well and it is one hell of an amazing car to own. I went with a extra load sidewall PS4S (96Y front and 100Y rear). Not a very aggressive setup, but it is way better than the OEM PSS I had (92Y and 96Y).

Overall good review and mostly pretty accurate. You should have used manual mode in the hotlap and downshifted manually to lowest gear in the braking zone. The auto mode is not really meant for tracking. The manual mode is designed for track purposes. The RCF/TE transmission is amazing. It adds so much character with the shift shock and theater. The LC500 transmission cannot fit into the RCF. It is too long and it is also a lot heavier because of more cogs. The LC500 does shift smoother and more refined. It also has a better programming in the auto mode. However, AISIN claims the manual max shift speed of the 8 speed is 100 ms vs the 10 speed max shift speed is 120 ms. The biggest reason why RCF does not have the 10 speed, is because it does not have the transmission coolers, which allows RCF to do hotlapping without overheating.

I think almost all of the KZitemrs ask for a ZF8 or LC500 10SP including Care Care Nut in the IS 500, that thing is small, RC F meanwhile is a GS + IS design and still Lexus cannot fit the 10sp, many do not really understand the engineering aspects. Plus the 10sp adds costs a ton more to the cars. Aisin AA80E is not a joke, it is fast when it's revved up past 4-5K range. Also Lexus is investing a ton of money into Electrification BS so they do not really have much incentive to push the envelop on the ICE NA V8 and the sales volume is also too low for these 2UR-GSE look at their lineup they are killing the NA V6 in 4Runner, GX got the 1UR V8 dead, Land Cruiser got butchered off by a 4banger turbo, LS is not having V8 since ages... Now image putting a ZF8 into one of these and pairing with 2UR, requires a lot of expertise knowledge and time, esp not going to happen when the whole Auto industry is shifting towards the Hybrid trash and EV boredom disaster. Ideally Lexus should have made an IS F with ZF8 on a totally new design and that will cost a lot and still they cannot beat the Germans due to the insane turbos which are unreliable piles of junk or lease mobiles which goes opposite to the Toyota Motor Corporation ideas. Also one more point is 2URGSE sounds amazing, it's a fantastic sounding piece of machine, tuned by Yamaha like LFA project.

@@lostalx Agreed. The AA80E in the RCF is only slow if you are below 4000 rpm. At high rpm, it is lightning quick and paddles are very responsive. The auto mode is OK and I don't doubt the 10 speed might be better in auto mode, but auto mode is almost never used for high performance driving. I have an IS350 F-Sport and the 8 speed in the RCF is very different from the 8 speed in the other non-F applications. Cheers!

0-60 mph in 3.9 seconds and 1/4 mile in 12.3 seconds, is still very relevant in today's world and still faster than 98% of the cars on the road. The RCF V8 does not remotely feel like the HEMI 392 or even the more closer Coyote 5.0L. It feels like a much smaller engine in how the needle spins around the tach. The engine feels like it has no internal mass and revs up and down a lot faster. Though, the redline is the same as the Coyote 5.0L, the RCF engine feels a lot more high strung/screamer, more happy/smooth as butter at high rpms. Also, RCFRCF has way more quality, refinement and better overall presence. Not to mention, RCFs hold their value exceptionally well with even 2015 RCFs in mint condition and low mileage, still sell for $50+ K. Only beaten and abused RCFs with high mileage can be found below that. RCF TE bone stock ran a 7:48 on Nurburgring basically with a non-pro owner and with traffic basically completely stock. With no traffic and a pro driver, it can easily do 7:40 with some slick tires.

Mine as spec'ed with performance package (carbon fiber and TVD option), was $90K in 2016. The RCF TE is really about $10k - $15K from a decent spec'ed RCF.
