My husband and I are visiting Colorado for the first time in October, and I definitely felt overwhelmed about the park pass and timed entry. Thank you SO much for making this video. You did an excellent job explaining it. You now have a new subscriber. Ty again! 🫎🤎🏔️

Just purchased my Park Access tickets for the end of September - 5 days of them. That was the most stressful thing I’ve had to do in a long time! I was ready to go at 10 AM EST and I printed out my tickets and I was done at 10:11 AM! WooHoo!!

Hiker shuttle gets you to the Park and Ride. From there you need to transfer to one of the regular shuttles.

33:46 I'd love to see that video, how many of the recommendations you find in Dawn's book to squeeze into one day; or even a whole series of videos. That would be cool! You kind of are on a movie set, literally and philosophically. 😄 I want to see foxes in the wild! 😍

Hi there! Thank you for the info Any recommendation for a solo ladie ?
@CattailChronicles

The trails are very popular and during the high season you likely wont be alone much. Take the normal precautions of watching your surroundings and maybe bringing a friend or booking a group hike. More dangerous is the wild terrain and animals. Again the trails are well traveled but can have snow all year. Moose are aggressive and can be around any corner. And there are bears around so be sure to not keep food or scented items out.

We plan to explore more hiking this year so we don't have much advice for hiking trails yet. I would try the AllTrails app.

We are planning to go around June 21 this year. Will trail ridge be open and we will be staying in Grand lake. Any tips what to see in grand lake?
@CattailChronicles
Жыл бұрын
Yes, Trail Ridge Road should be open-remember we can get snow at any time though. Grand Lake is lovely and slower paced. I love driving over, getting an ice cream in town and walking down to the lake to picnic. As far as hikes I know there are quite a few but we haven't explored them nearly enough.

In order to go do you recommend to stay nearby the national park or can I make it from Denver?
@CattailChronicles
Жыл бұрын
Denver is an hour and a half away. If you can stay closer you will have more flexibility. There's a lot of driving within Rocky too. If you can find a place in Loveland, Estes Park or Lyons.

If I have a time entry for 9am-11am. Can I get in between nine and before 11am or do I have to get in right at 9am?
@CattailChronicles

Any time between 9 and 11. Keep in mind the lines to get in the park will be long. Give yourself LOTS of extra time.

I understand the reasoning but it sure is frustrating all the hoops you have to jump through to get into some parks these days. It’s why I tend to gravitate more towards just BLM land or state parks to avoid some of the crowds. But with permits being required to film everywhere I’ll probably just stick more towards photography than filmmaking even though I love filmmaking more.

What kinda crap is that!?! How can you sell passes to people, but not have enough or guarantee parking!?!?! Who’s running things and who thought this was a good idea?
@CattailChronicles

They do provide free in park shuttles and many people just do the drive over Trail Ridge or drive around to see the sights. Bear Lake has so many hiking trails that that parking lots fills. The timed entry tickets help.
