Finally...Beavers in the truck again and off n running!👍 So glad you all were able to access some open water after this crazy winter. Are urban beavers dumber then their northern cousins or do they have street smarts? I had an infestation of ground squirrels one spring. I tried everything for bait and caught birds/cats and you name it. I finally caught the first one and didnt ever have to use bait again. Once the sent was on the trap. I caught one everyday for 27 days straight. Do you feel that beaver sets are the same way? Sometimes it is just a matter of catching the first one and then everybody has to check it out...Thanks for the great video and Thanks Grandpa Ed!

Hopefully you guys made it up north but the change to new ground had to be fun. Weather sure didn't give you much to work with between the snow and high water. I can set my coil springs by hand but my 330s are way too new for that. I left them set all last year to weaken the spring and it didn't help much.

Very nice video. I enjoyed watching the process. Could you be Uncle Ed on one of the future videos? Could you do a voice over on one set up where you explain the process. Please? No hunters, fisher people or trappers in the family. I watched last year's hunt and that was on glaciers.

I used to like to watch Tom Oar, on Mountain Men, when he used to go out Beaver Trapping. He could really finish the pelts. you were like a kid playing in a mud puddle trying to make it "more friendly"....lol. So, I have a question.....do you just take the pelts or do you eat the meat too? looking forward to seeing part 2.

So as I am seeing this. The trap has a line to peg it in. Then another line to a weight to hold it straight, then plant the trap. Is this correct? Why have I seen some set traps without the weight end?
@outofthewoodyard
11 ай бұрын
Yup, pretty much. Some are body grip traps and the beaver dies very fast so no need to drown them.
