Heard “reminiscent of wax trax era underground industrial” and was sold. Definitely the first I’ll be checking out!

@@DrSpinMusic the band it reminded me the most of was surprisingly Skinny Puppy, except distinct enough with a more modern touch and nothing felt antiquated which I appreciated! Going to have this in rotation throughout the year!

Glad you got a similar read. I'm suprised more critics aren't talking about this period of music..

@@DrSpinMusic It could be down to a number of things, one being an inherently niche sound that’s typically too harsh for a mainstream audience whilst leaning heavily on electronics for punks & metalheads. Death Grips & NIN are the only groups that get referenced frequently in music writer circles so it may give the impression that industrial music as a whole is from a specific time and somehow isn’t significantly present in modern artists so not as worth talking about in the present. One more could be that it’s quite a fractured genre with some groups that rely on noise & dissonance (Einstürzende Neubauten) some with guitar/rock (KMFDM) and some with pure electronics (Front Line Assembly) Wax Trax! as a label has a fascinating backstory and the documentary that came out a few years back Industrial Accident I would highly recommend!
