I have a 2022 PAS. Have had many traditional HDs since 1987. In my humble opinion after riding my PA for 22,000 miles since new the 1250 Rev Max engine is the best engine HD has ever built. Other than the Bosch fuel pump getting noisy at 21,000 miles and replaced under warranty the bike has been trouble free. I love it and hope its here to stay.

@paulwojnar2291

@MattLaidlaw Absolutely. Harley must do like BMW and continue to produce the venerable and iconic pushrod V Twin. The Rev Max powered machines as a seperate line. That said I think it was a tremendous blunder to discontinue the pushrod Sportster. The excuse that was given by the MOCO was it couldnt be made to meet current emission standards without reengineering it. Kawasaki did it with the KLR 650 single which had been around since the mid 80s. I call BS on that because the Chinese/ Italian clone is already a reality. Huge mistake. The Rev Max line of "sportsters" could been called by a different nomenclature as was the V Rod. There is an 07 1200 in my stable now and there will be some more in the future. That being said the Pan America is one helluva machine. Three in one actually. Just hope more dealers get on board and all the early bugs are now a memory. 2024 is its 4th production year. Should be no more "teething issues". Hope to see some more broadcasts of your Pan Am experiences. Thank you

If you’ve been looking at the website over the last month or so, you’d notice the dramatically smaller lineup two weeks ago. New colors and a new headlight. Probably going to be part of the reveal January 24th. Which by the way is my birthday , lol. Gonna make it to L.A. someday and stop by the shop to meet you guys. Thanks Matt.

Come say hi! Yes, the Low Rider S (ST) have the inverted forks. I left out a lot of the details on the bikes on this video just because it was out of the scope of the subject matter. The Street Glide Special and Road Glide Specials, however, do NOT have upside down forks. The New 2023 CVOs are the only Touring chassis bikes that have the inverted forks at the time of me writing this comment.

Let's just call it what it is. It is Primer with a clear coat over it, leave it to Harley to make someone pay extra for black paint which is the cheapest and easiest paint to obtain. Harley claims they are a premium brand and demand premium price yet not every bike comes with cruise control, still releasing bikes with single disc front brakes, Their touring bikes still use halogen turn signals etc.. Seeing how they don't have all of their touring bikes on their website tells me that they are fixing to do some much needed changes to them. I'm excited to see what they are going to do with those on Jan 24th. Also why didn't Harley just put a factory 2n1 exhaust on the ST so that the bags are the same size? That is something that just doesn't make any sense to me.

Hey Matt, nice rundown of the limited release. I was a bit surprised that the chrome option disappeared on the RG and Ultra, seems like a way to force that black upcharge? IDK. Perhaps the moco saw that dropping the Road King chrome didn't affect sales and decided to follow suit with the glides? Do you think that option will return on the 24th full release? Also, any thoughts on the new '23 CVO fairings possibly showing up on the Specials or ST's to help differentiate them a bit more since the standards are blacked out now? Oh, and I'd be interested in hearing your thoughts on the '23 CVO Streetglide recall for the high speed instabilities.

Chrome production went up exponentially in cost, sure, painting, too but not as much. So I would not be surprised if HD would leave the less-interest chrome bikes out of the program more than before. Personally I love brushed aluminium, but that‘s either not in favor of the „mass“. I found it strange to present color updates on limited tourers and leaving standard and ultras out. It would look weird to me that standard models may come with the last year CVO mods, while the limited stay in the 2023 tech trim. Thus, unless there‘s a Ultra-Exclusive non CVO class with the new touring tech changes and options, I can‘t see the CVO features trickle down already this year. I get the feeling, too that the risk-management buffers on the revolution-x ranges were taken out leading to the price reduction, now that they realize, the volume goes up consistently. Revolution-X is a standing success, not a one day craze. Sure, there‘s more sportsters to be sold, but it‘ll catch up. Anyway the only platform supportable with coming tighter compliance rules, i.e. 90dB on all roads, tyres noise and rubber emission rules coming, noise and emission radars being installed all over europe, slowly but steadily… I bet california will find ways of placing similar rulings over the next 5 years. Already now scenic roads and regions are being closed down with 95 and 90dB limitations for motorcycles only, yep, biker hate is getting political traction in europe, even in Brussels/EU, not just country-based/regional.

Watching your content always instantly makes me want to ride my own Harley 😇 I checked the German website and here the basic Nightster is still 14,995 € like in the 2023 model year (all 3 remain the same). 2000 Dollar less tells me that the Nightsters have a hard time in the U.S. also. I literally haven't seen a single Nightster outside a show room yet, not even at the Hamburg Harley Days. The Nightster is a modern sport bike apart from the geometrics and the belt drive. 14,995 €, what else can you get for the money? MT-09 SP / 13199 € Z 900 SE / 12199 € Ducati 698 RVE / 13390 € . You can get a Hornet 750 for 8190 € or a Ducati Scrambler for 10590 €. You don't buy a Nightster because of the fit & finish or because the of the sound. We Europeans loved the Bronx and felt that HD hit the nail on the head with this one, this was THE sportbike from Harley Davidson, it really was. The Sportster S is very appreciated also btw, we love the radical modern hot rod style. And the power. Do you feel the same about the Bronx in the U.S ?

Haha touché. Last year I was riding all the way to sturgis 2 weeks later. I couldn’t be away from work for 3 weeks straight.

Bit curious about the colours of the Road King Special. One of the most popular colours is "Vivid Black". Now it's a premium colour, what's that all about? Now it's going to cost you premium for a basic colour.

Yea but all that really matters is total Price and even with the black up charge it didn’t really go up that much.

Bring back the classic sportster. Much as the soft tails are very much iconic from the early days of last century, I am still in shock that Harley dropped the classic sportster line altogether. I really would have thought they should have two main lines: Classic and Progressive. Then people can make a choice of either. For me the new sportster range are standard V twins with oversized exhausts and Harley logos. Chasing Indian's range is not a good look.

Softail Standard and Street Bob need new wheels. Spokes for the Standard a nice retro style mag wheel for the Bob. The current wheels make the bike look cheap.

@brendan_13 vrod was the best engine hd ever made...it needed no stage kits & I think it's faster than a M8, yes my friend hd dropped the ball on that1..we will c what Matt thinks if he answers till then keep 2 wheels down ,pick up the girls & grab em buy the😻nuff said.

@@brendan_13 The M8 is not a better engine than the Revolution, not by a long shot. A 20 year old V-Rod will smoke a brand new Street Bob and the Revo is indestructible.

It seems to me that when a bike's price increases a bunch, it means the end of it's life is coming soon...the OEM is interested in ending the model. Sounds silly but you see it in other industries too. They're looking to end the model but still have the parts/machinery to make it. Sorta like testing the water to see if the decision to move on is a wise one. Essentially pricing a legacy product high enough that it makes buyers think twice and perhaps move on to the newer gizmo. If wrong by evidence of sales, they can still produce the old thing. Not a big loss so long as the OEM doesn't make too many of the legacy things and they sit around forever.

My 21 Low Rider S was $17,999 MSP. with inflation to 2024 that would be $20,508.95 so it did go down $500

ABS was standard when i got my 21 and I got it before they started doing the surcharge. They even nocked $1k off. So I got it for.$16,999. I didn't expect that. They had just gotten 3 of them off the truck and they were the only 3 in the state. Guy said they would be sold by the next day. They were. @@MattLaidlaw

Fucking DYING to know what whiskey fire looks like.... wish it was coming to the road king..... hoping to buy one this year, Imetallics and pearls more than these flat colors. Thursday said I really liked the industrial yellow last year. And here in Canada they went up $2000! I want to see red rock in person, I think I could get down with the white pearl. But, 2 grand less for the same bike in a color I personally think pops is tough to turn down....

All the best from germany. i like your videos Matt! but i keep my 2008 Street bob and my 2007 Electra glide classic. nothing new. no new chassis, no new connectivity, no new exhaust design.... the models with revolution engine have the mega ugly water cooler block in the front, which covers almost the entire front area. most of the work was again done by the painter, which does not justify the prices.
