For almost 60 years, Tom Love led by example as a business leader, family man, and philanthropist. In 1964, with $5,000 and at the suggestion of his father, Tom and Judy founded what would become Love’s Travel Stops when they leased an abandoned service station in Watonga, Oklahoma. Tom’s ties to OU started young. As a child, he attended OU football games with his father, and as an adult, he found himself cheering for the Sooners in those very same seats. Tom attended OU for a time and felt a deep affinity for the university because his parents, one of his children, and grandchildren attended. His impact can be felt across many areas at OU. This includes a lead gift from the Tom and Judy Love Foundation to support entrepreneurship initiatives at the Michael F. Price College of Business, along with a transformative gift from Love’s Travel Stops to build a new world-class stadium for OU Softball - Love’s Field - which opened for the 2024 season.
