I would honestly wait until Rtings does a deep dive review as they will release those specific calibration settings. For me, I usually keep it on Game Standard, Original, or Graphic when I am working in DaVinci Resolve.

Hey mate. How are you getting on with it? I'm in a complete tizz with monitors ATM. Looking for two monitors for my setup and every single time I see one I'm tempted by I see someone give a reason it's bad and an alternative.. then you research the alternative and someone says that's bad and it goes on forever ! On paper this sounds like a good monitor, just heard bad things about the matte finish and the colours/text Also what vouchers/codes did you use, if any? Cheers

@@alsius9162 I use a slight 0.50 prescription for glasses and, for some reason, it makes the text crystal clear (also turned off Clear Font in Windows and went through the font clarity setup). The matte finish is actually preferred for me since it reduces glare and reflections. In terms of price I preordered it through SPC and signed up with the $100 off code for a total price of $719+tax Canadian. Overall it's a great monitor but I wish Samsung stood by their products a little better in Canada; we only get the 1 year burn-in warranty whereas they upped it to 3 in the US. If you are located in the US, absolutely go for it!

Mine arrives today im disappointed to see you have flickering in hdr you shouldn't have to turn it off. Is there a firmware update? Hopefully that will fix the flickering. Thanks for the upload its been interesting

@@toonnut1 it seemed to only do it when the laptop display was in non-HDR, on Optimus, and the monitor was in HDR. Putting them both in HDR and in dGPU, no more flickering. Might have just been an Optimus issue.

You got the same laptop as I do🎉 Does the monitor help get higher fps for the original 240 fps that the Lenovo comes with
@theguard1
2 ай бұрын
For certain games, absolutely. Especially for e-sports where you're able to actually display that higher fps. To be honest there is not much of a difference between the 240Hz and 360Hz to my eyes. But the response time of the OLED just makes it buttery smooth!

@@krishnaganjoo I'm actually using the included HDMI 2.1 cable that was in the box. I thought I would be restricted to 240Hz but because it's using the HDCP 2.2 standard, it outputs the full 360Hz!

Hello, I am currently using gigabyte m28u 4k 144hz IPS (300nit) and I like the G6 OLED model, but can switching from 4k ips to 2k'oled screen be a disadvantage for me in terms of image quality and text, clarity quality? Do you think I regret switching to 2k screen, do I feel the lack of resolution? 50% video and work, 50% play games. Also, the brightness seems to be quite low, my current monitor is 300 nits and I think I would like more, although it actually works for me. The G60SD seems to have a brightness of 250 nits, which seems low.
@theguard1
Ай бұрын
@@Butterflys07 so there is a thing about the brightness with OLED where yes the overall brightness in SDR will be about 250 nits, but in HDR you will be at 400 nits, and in small sections where 10-25% are lit, you will actually be around 1000 nits (it's rated for HDR1000). So you will actually see a much brighter display overall. Definitely recommend being in HDR on though. You may see a slight degradation of resolution but it will not be much.

@@theguard1And what do you think about text clarity. I spend most of my day on video, editing and exel. My current monitor offers a very clear and clean image in terms of text readability, but it has tones close to yellow in terms of color, so I plan to switch to a monitor with more accurate and vibrant colors, and according to what you said about brightness, if I use it with HDR mode on all the time, I have 400 nits brightness value, right?
@theguard1
Ай бұрын
@@Butterflys07 that's what they say as well and I notice it is quite a bit brighter in everything with HDR on. In terms of text clarity, OLED has a little bit of blurriness for that but if you wear glasses (I have a small prescription) it seems to be absolutely unnoticed

Compared do an ips panel (Inzone m9 is what I have used but now am on PC) is this monitor substantially darker?
@theguard1
Ай бұрын
@@thataggiekid given the static contrast ratio of the M9 being 1000:1 and even though it does have local dimming and go to 80k:1, that pales in comparison to the absolute black you get from OLED (over 1Mil:1) so yes it definitely will get significantly darker

@@sashimifr I see your point with current tablet and smartphone display density (heck, my 16" laptop has higher pixel density) but 1440p truly is a great sweet spot for the balance of size, resolution, fps, and high quality settings since you can maximize them all at that resolution for most games.
