okay, i am so tired of adults bashing on growing up skipper!! 🤬 i was 10 when skipper came out, and i absolutely loved playing with her!! she went from childhood to teenhood, which allowed me to act out possible scenarios for myself. because her body changed, she could wear different styles in each incarnation, to go with her new imagined activities. she was actually one of my favorite dolls, and that's the real measure of a toy's success to me..... how much kids enjoyed it. ☺️

In the 1990s my mother sent my daughter the pregnant Barbie from Australia. We are not as hung up on things like that. Also when we lived in New Zealand, in the 1970s, I had one of the black dolls, they were called Golly Wogs. I also had a Topsy Tervey doll, she was black on one end, and white on the other. Depending on which way you flipped her dress, it uncovered either, the black or white side. Once again, certain countries do not take such offense, not even the native people that they are modeled after. It is sad how we get offended for certain ethnic groups, who they themselves were not offended, and actually had these toys themselves.

I never once considered my Barbie as a goal for my looks. It’s a doll. Just like the Cabbage Patch Kids. I didn’t think about looking like them either. This whole idea is preposterous. I never owned any of these but I did own a creepy ventriloquist doll called the Willie Talk doll. I don’t remember what he said but I hated that thing. I threw it away. It came back. I found it in the attic at the bottom of a tall bin. That freaked me out. I threw it away again and watched the garbage men take it this time. Look it up. If you ever do a video of truly unsettling toys, he’s got to be in there. I am empathic. My house was haunted. That was the only toy I got feelings of terror from looking at it.

There was a series of models available in the late 60s/early 70s made by the iconic model company Aurora. They featured a mad scientist and his chamber of torture. They included a "victim" figure that was a scantily clad woman in a cage that you could take her in and out of. So she could be tortured using various devices in other sets. I came from Akron and I thst there at least tv ads featured a local psychologist who ran the local Child Guidance Center. A real child therapist who called these toys healthy because they allowed children to express their repressed anger. This is all true and can be easily varified on the internet. I actually both recall them from that time and have seen them at vintage toy shows.

Most likely as a kid I'd never thought anything of these toys, but as an adult and a parent...yeah...they are definitely questionable.

My Aunt's Nigerian friends helped to collect the tokens from Robinsons Jam and Marmalade for the kids, one of them had a collection of the pins and a Golly in his car, He never had an issue, If anything he was quite proud of his collection and would swap doubles with the kids.

If a child aged 0-4 years were to play with the breastfeeding doll, they could still be drinking Breastmilk themselves at that age…

I am black and I had a golliwog, as a child, still got him, I collected tokens on Robinson's jam jars, took me ages, but I finally got him, I had almost saved enough tokens to get the girl golliwog, but the stopped the promotion. The books were good stories, read one before you condem them.

Not really sure how you're not taking sides about breastfeeding, by being offended by a kid imitating something their mother was probably doing.... It's not sexual...

Recently, I bought my adult son a plushy doll on Temu. He has a sometimes dark sense of humor. This stuffed doll has internal organs! Just unzip it's torso and there's it's heart, lungs, liver, and intestines. It's marketed as a way to teach toddlers about human anatomy. There was even a picture of a toddler in a little lab coat, giving it a pretend operation. The manufacturer kindly provided a surgical gown for the doll. Fun, fun!

I have the play doe cake kit with the phallic shaped extruder. The problem is mostly the parents! Kids are innocent and if you (the parent) don't draw attention to it they won't either! Get your mind out of the gutter people!

Hi Mike! I’m not usually easily offended. I grew up listening to George Carlin. But these toys, just wow man! That pregnant baby doll with the nesting doll fetuses is the creepiest thing ever! On all of these I’m thinking what the hell are they smoking over there? I’m all for a good prank toy, but not for children.

My niece had pregnant Barbie. Her mother was not happy when she got it as a gift. That girl would not give that doll up for anything. Slept with it. Her mother took it from her when she was sleeping, replaced with a regular Barbie doll. Told my niece the doll lost weight. I don't think my 4 yr old niece bought it, but there was no crying. Her mother stills has the pregnant one in a box in her attic😁✌️
