A friend of mine once said to me that he does 40 reps of pushups in one set. But his physique was not like someone who could do something like that. I asked him to do some pushups in front of me, and his form was very poor. He wasn't using his core even a little bit along with some other problems. Then i showed him how to do proper pushups, and he was only able to do 10 of those to failure, and even then his form was only about 90% perfect. A lot of People just don't know how to do proper pushups.

@@rai_varun just watch one of their pushup videos. This one : kzitem.info/news/bejne/qoV63niukWmgnGk Always remember that you need a strong core(abdominal muscles) for a proper pushup and that your arms should be at an angle to your body, so that when looking from above your body forms an Arrow and not a T-shape since that's not a stable position.
@someguy5035

Most people do pushups incorrectly. They either don't go down far enough or the don't lock out at the top. I see a lot of people not raising or lowering their body as a single unit as well. They do this weird thing where only their upper body only goes up and down. Your body must remain in a generally straight line from your ankles to your shoulders. If you look straight ahead instead of down it helps greatly in keeping your torso rigid. Also, keep that butt from sagging and keep it out of the air. Doing correct pushups is a great workout.

I think it’s easy forget that the reason beginners struggle with form and complete too quickly is that they don’t have the strength to complete what they consider an adequate volume with correct technique (if they know it). In this sense the right or wrong demonstrated is a little unhelpful: beginners need load reduction movements to enable them to have the capacity to practice good technique and tempo and increase their strength prior to attempting the full exercise. This bridges their strength gap without attempting potentially injurious low-volume but correct technique moves especially where the whole body weight (which is usually disproportionately large for the muscle mass - they are beginners after all) is involved

Maybe you could talk about the different types of failure. Like one is when you can no longer keep up the pace or rep speed, another is when your form breaks or you have to dial the difficulty back (like a mechanical dropset). Yet another is to keep going until you literally fail to perform the exercise (as in you faceplant during a pushup). And also talk about when one should aim for one type of failure or another. Cheers
