Everyone: I've been watching Dr. Mandel for a long time now and I can't believe how his videos of altered my life. It's so altering that I have to say he had giving me hope in my life. His videos altered me forever! I actually have reversed a lot of my severe issues that was affecting everything in my life. At one point, I had trouble lifting the coffee cup easily! Now, I am cooking, washing dishes and laundry! This might seem like no big deal but it is for me! I get up in the morning and I actually think "wow maybe today's going to be good day!"

All these videos I’ve watched so far are amazing and so informative. I am guilty of very VERY bad posture probably 90% of the time. Working from home I slouch and my favorite position (sadly) was leaning my elbows down onto my knees looking down and putting all the weight on my neck, arms and knees. Finally, I felt a slight pull in right shoulder and tried to avoid using it , picked up my not so light nephew with all my left side strength and something happened, this was mid june.. it wasn’t bad enough to stop me. I kept up the bad posture, spent a day making videos holding my phone up with arm very high and still laying on stomach. Woke one day two weeks ago neck stuck, arm and shoulder spasming like a neverending leg cramp , I was screaming lol (not funny) Threw my arm over my head and landed in the ER not knowing what was happening to me and screaming at them when they tried to take my arm down. Very embarrassing and feel bad for the patients who listened to me that night/morning. Dr said it was my trap spasming and a pinched nerve but I tests given. Gave me flexeral, ibuprofen , a short massage to try to get the knot out and sent me home with meds to pick up. If I knew what I knew now, this could have been avoided and it’s been hell, a lot of it mentally because my dominant arm is the one affected and still trying to recover. I not clearly see everything I’ve done to land here and it’s pretty scary. No MRI yet. My GP said to give it a few more weeks and work on it (ice, heat, stretching, rest, ibuprofen and a few exercises) and see how it goes. My whole daily routine is gone and it’s a struggle, not only the pain which I’ve learned how to release most of it but the struggle that I HAVE to somehow change my posture after probably a decade of it being bad.. not to mention a lack of core strength too, which makes sitting tall very difficult. Even if the nerve heals,I still have a battle ahead of me ,I realize now. Very scary to sit or stand tall for a short amount of time and feel heavy head. I’m drained. I still can’t sleep as flat as i need too … if anyone is here who hasn’t hit any “snags” yet.. definitely fix posture and preventative measures… Anyway, great videos that give me some hope, just want to thank you. ❤

Thank you very much for sharing your helpful videos. I have complained to doctors for years about the pain in the back of my head and around my ears. None of them have ever even mentioned forward head posture. None of them ever instructed me to do chin tucks or any exercise that might relieve this pain. I have tried Tylenol, Tylenol 3, Amerge, Excedrin and Advil. Nothing relieves this pain. I received an occipital nerve block two weeks ago. It helped initially, but the pain has returned, although it is not as severe. I have been doing chin tucks throughout the day and it does give me some relief. I am subscribed to your channel. Thank God for you!!

Alexis Benitez I had an occipital nerve block done by my pain doctor in Tyler TX. I got relief initially, but the pain returned. I had my occipital nerve endings burned in September of 2019. I had great relief from that. The pain has returned, but it isn’t nearly as bad as it has been. When the threat of COVID is reduced I plan to have that done again. Dr. Mandela’s morning stretches help me immensely too.

I've been doing your neck stretches and ice packs behind the head, (from another video) for a long time now and glad you brought this one back. There is considerable improvement in visual disturbances ie temporary partial loss of vision in left eye and seeing a zig zag pattern, flashing colorful lights which at first was very alarming to me, however no other symptoms. This lasted about 1/2 hr. Optometrist and doctor both said occiptal headaches. Those ice packs behind the lower part of my head really help! Your videos have been most helpful!

@@desperadopharaoh2361 I also get the zig zag patterns in my vision that last for about 30 minutes before they disappear. My optician said it was due to ocular migraine. I also suffer from occipital neuralgia. Getting treatment that works on the NHS is very difficult due to very lengthy waiting lists at the hospital. Nerve block injections to the occipital nerve helps but is not a long term solution. I have been prescribed Gabapentin and Amytriptyline but with very limited success. A good pillow, exercise and developing good posture help more than the drugs!

Thanks for the tips. I have suffered from headaches since I can remember and more recently have suffered from brain fog and tingling sensations across my left ear and down left side of face. My gp was useless in diagnosing why... just blamed it on anxiety. Found these videos really helpful. Great tips and video Dr. Mandell. I do have a question for you, as well as any other viewers that can comment. I have been have been suffering from occipital neuralgia for about 7 or so years. I went at least 4-5 without a diagnosis. I finally met up with a Neurologist who was able to diagnose. My right side is especially painful, the pain kinda of....spiders out starting behind/below my mastoid bone area and my eye and even makes part of my lip tingle. It also radiates down following my carotid artery. I have had doppler ultrasounds done to rule out any blockages and what not. My question is, I have heard that the greater and lesser occipital nerves are sensory nerves and not accessory, so in rare cases, if all other treatment options fail, a person can get the nerves removed. What are your thoughts on this and for the other viewers, have any of you had this done? Thank you so much!

Thank you sir. I will be doing these exercises until I get my visit to a neurologist. My new family doctor had nothing more to say to me than criticism and would not even order a referral for me. Nor is she willing to write a diagnosis including anything pertinent to the auto accident when my head violently struck the headrest in my occipital nerve region. I am also one of the 20% who has the seizures just from resting my head on my pillow. She is a smart ass, who is talking the AFLAC quack instead of addressing my injuries, and you have given me more in two minutes than would ever get from that imbecile !I had to go over her head and get an ambulatory referral and then see my attorney-appointed M.D. to seal the visitation. She even lied to me when she begriudgingly pretended to order it right in front of me.I had to find out from the ER that her so-called "referral" was merely put on record as a note while she attempted to diagnose me as a nutcase !

Funny how he says use ice when it's inflamm.. My stupid doc said use heat pack no ice! Don't know how my doc got her Medical Degree telling me to use heat instead of ice on my neck when it's inflamed and irritated, some docs have no clue or they just don't listen at all ...
