After more than 50yrs @ the loading bench I can tell you that seating depth will tell you more than 1/10th grain of powder & cost less in components & barrel wear ! With cases as large as the 300prc work up in 1/2 gr increments to get the velocities & ES you need , refine seating depth , then test different power charges + or - a 10th . Just a suggestion to save you time , money and barrel wear . CHEERS AND GOOD SHOOTING

78.2 is looking promising with that 8.32 SD and that group is like 1/2 moa w/o the flyer. Maybe try it again ans play with seating depth? Seems like that would be a better load for passed 1000 yard stuff. Love your content, man. I recently finished my 300prc project (Kelbly's/26" 1-8.5 pac-nor/KRG Bravo/triggertech/Tract Toric ) and just got some retumbo and 225 eldm's to do some load development with. Your videos are very helpful.

Interesting stuff, neat seeing that big cartridge deliver such compelling results. You did see something that I've seen int he past, and that's the groups with the best standard deviation not always having the tightest group. I dunno why that is, but I don't sweat it too much. Some guns just like different amounts of powder.

Matt, I used to do what you are doing and I'll admit it is fun. I watched Hornady podcast EP 050 and it convinced me that none of it matters when it comes to powder charge. Basically there are to many variables such as first five rounds last five rounds barrel temperature and so on. They say your shot string should be 35 rounds not five or three and you will be surprised to find out they will all be the same!! I have loaded for over 34 years and in the back of my mind I noticed these variables but I always told myself things like I pulled that one or I did not mount the rifle to my shoulder properly and so on. Good luck with your loading and Merry Christmas!!

One group doesn't mean much.I consider three 3 shot groups as bare minimum for a light barrel, and three 5 shot groups for heavier barrels. Of your groups,in addition to the smallest groups,I would retry the ones with the lowest SD.

Another great video Matt. I'm doing powder change testing for this coming hunting season and I'm getting some promising results. Question, I'm useing the range buddy app for measuring group size, is your p,o,i in the center of your red dot target or in the center of your actual shot group? I'm using the same app to. And the mean radius is the true group size the app is measuring from the center of the shot group?

Retambo is very scarce and almost the only power i can use for my PRC thats is available in South Africa. So with out using up all my limited supply of retambo do you have any other load suggestions.

Maybe try a lower powder charge. Try doing some shot groups between 78 and 79 grains. I am finding that ot is not always best to play with the top end of the charge spectrum. Try going lower in charge and see if you get better results.
