@@walterdavis4808 - It's not difficult at all, there is a specific application for doing just that, I'll explain. Step 1. You create a 3d model of the object in some sort of CAD or 3D design software like the one I'm using in this video. Step 2. You take file that was produced by the CAD/3D design software and you import into another type of software application known as a "slicer". The purpose of the slicer is to "slice up" the 3d model and convert the slices into something known as GCODE. Gcode is the "language" that the 3d printer understands...it translates the 3d object into Cartesian coordinates that move the 3D printer head and XY table to where it should be in space. Step 3. You put the GCode on to an SD card and stick in your 3d printer... you hit go and the printer will print out the 3D object that you designed. It is exactly the same way that a CNC machine works... like a milling machine, etc. Hopefully this all makes sense.

*SOLVED* Hey guys, thanks to some help from the developers of 3D Coat I was easily able to learn why I was seeing this behavior. As it turns out, the Z-UP coordinate system had been enabled in the user preferences. Of course this will change how the views are displayed as opposed to that of a Y-UP coordinate system. Naturally this is blatantly obvious but I didn't recall ever having enabled the Z-UP coordinate system myself... but of course I should have realized this anyway given that the axis tripod is clearing showing that the Z axis is up. So yeah, it's MY error and there is absolutely no problem with the software whatsoever. Chalk this one up to user error and general brain fog on my part. Thanks again to the developers of 3D Coat, they are awesome!
