Thank you Michael for this video, I came across your channel a little while back, but life gets in the way and I go back and forth from one video to another, not necessarily in order. Your teaching is very unique and I must say...I Love it! I do have a question that I haven't quite figured out...lack of trying most likely. The question is when you add, not merge a model over another one I notice that you entered in a desired height for the second model in which you added, I believe the item was 1/4", question is this... does that second component add 1/4" to the existing height of the 1st component while at the same time the portion of the second component remains 1/4" from the "plane" level, what I'm calling a shear plane? Sorry for the long winded question. I think you mentioned that the total project height thus far was 3/4", the 1st component was 1/2" and the 2nd was 1/4". There appeared to be two 1/4" heights there...1/4" above the 1/2" first componnent and then a 1/4" above the shear plane. Am I dreaming? Thanks, and once again I hope that wasn't to long winded. Love your content!!! Andrew

Thanks Andrew for the comments. When choosing the component property of "Add" both dimensions are added together. I'm not sure I understand your "shear plane". I will look at the video again to see if I misspoke. Just think of it as a 1/4" slice of Cheese over a 1/2" hamburger,, Total thickness 3/4"

@@mezalick Hi again Michael, THANKS for your response. No, you never misspoke in this episode, I should have called it a modelling plane, not a shear plane. I appreciate your experience and look forward to.more learning.👍 Andrew W😊

Hi, I'm stuck, when I create a circle, rectangle and triangle they are all component 1 , not sure how to create or make them individual components

Select each closed vector seperatly.
@mezalick

There is a long workaround by cutting each shape out by selecting the component and one of the closed vectors and using the sissors on the modeling tab.

@@mezalick Hi Michael, thank you for responding, I just realized these shapes do not become individual components until extruded in modeling, thank you for making this series, Mark, Vancouver, Canada

I have a problem, when I select any object, I can create a shape but when I choose a different shape profile (dome to cone) the slider on the shape profile gets grayed out. If I click back on the dome, it works again.
