@@adventuralist Yes and he also says that it is still the only working one. Also I said the comment because "the Greeks" did not have 1 opinion on the matter. Not even if we say the ancient Greeks. There were several different ways of government even in the Ancient Greece. That is why WE ALL are taught about at least two: The Athen history and the Spartan history. Athen itself had all of the possible governmental forms during a 200 year period. The Greek philosophers and politicians had several different opinions on the subject. Not rarely the same philosopher said different things in his different books. Therefore there wasn't a "Greek way" such as there wasn't a "Roman way" of government. And to put all of this info on the subject he did not say that democracy is the worst form of government, he said that "even according to the Greeks, not everybody deserves a vote". Which is simply not true. Trust me bro, I am a political scientist.

Actually if you voting you can't complain. If you don't voting you can complain about the system because you didn't participate. And also the medieval system of constitutional monarchy is better than democracy. Only noble people can vote, everybody can be noble who is brave enough to make a name in one of the many wars, noble people got money and land so they don't have to work, so they have many time to learn science and the art of war. You end up with people who are brave enough to fight for the country and smart enough to know what is happening in the world. And they can lose the noble status if they don't go to war if they needed. In my country they also had to learn some real life job. One of our guy who was born to be the king was a carpenter.
@RG-iw7py

Absolutely. And monarchy is cheaper. In old days carpenters were as well engineers, planning, building. One of the best jobs in the world:)

He's so right! How cool would it be if people with high IQ and EQs had votes that counted more. I just wish there was a good way to quantify wisdom and all of us would have a score. Loudest mouths with stupid ideas would have 0 votes. We would prevent our system being run by the most extreme ideas. That's honestly not a bad solution.
@kazarofchult8086
2 жыл бұрын
That’s called an oligarchy or maybe an autocracy. It would backfire, and disenfranchise many people especially those of color. The power of the vote is fundamental to Democracy. If people don’t have the power to vote they will be exploited and become expendable.
@TheTruthKiwi
2 жыл бұрын
Sounds good, wouldn't work. The problem is how do you quantify the wisdom. There might be a Nobel Prize winner but he/she has no idea about politics so is effectively useless. Maybe test for political knowledge and understanding but if they're versed in politics then they no doubt already have some bias. Giving everyone a vote is not perfect but is the fairest process at this particular time. The real problem is the lack of choices to vote for (in America specifically).
