This is a very interesting concept, especially considering Dick laid out his ground rules ahead of time. I used to deliver pizzas and 1 reason why people SAID they did not tip was that the "delivery charge" was my tip. 2 problems with that: I didn't get to keep all of the delivery charge, and I always told friends the delivery charge paid for the use of my car. After all, the waitress at your favorite restaurant only has to walk to your table, whereas I had to drive to your address and walk up your (often) unpaved driveway/sidewalk. And I treated tips like presents: nice to receive but should not be an obligation. BUT...by the same token, if I do more than bring your pizza to your door, say, bring extra cheese and/or pepper, or in the case of 1 customer: TOTALLY ignore company rules at your insistence and bring your pizza inside and place it on your dining room table for your inspection...that should be worth something.

He opened his door inward, I only saw his face but when I walked out, he was naked with a hard-on. Very hot young guy! He was pointing down to his ankle saying he had to put that on at all time, court order, and not to walk outside without approvals. I was like “why did the court make him wear his cockring all the time for?” Haha… He said there was plenty of food if I wanted to join him for dinner. I said I had another order in the car I had to deliver by 2.15am so I couldn’t stay. I was a server and bartender for 15 years. Service workers are not even paid minimum wage. At one restaurant I made $2.50 AN HOUR. When I bartended at a nicer popular place I was paid $5 an hour. The taxes are nuts and a typical biweekly check was usually $0 dollars I kid you not. Servers rely on tips. I do think however, for some reason in California servers are paid a higher wage. But don't quote me on that. So no, there is definitely not a salary and some mom and pop shops don't pay a wage at all. And FYI this reply isn't meant to sound rude to you at all. Just wanted to let ya know! 😊

in America, service workers MUST make minimum wage under federal law, 7.25 unless raised by the state government. tips essentially allow the employer to subsidize the wage, and the wage can continue to go above minimum wage if tips get that high. few people know this. and it's one of the reasons money lost in wage theft higher than nearly any other form of theft in our country.
@aprisia
7 жыл бұрын
Niklas323 Actually, if you get more than $30 in tips per month, the federal minimum wage for service staff is $2.13. Yeah, the loophole and tipping are a scam against both the servers and the customer. Servers have no wage security and the costumer ends up pay much more than if they the increase in costs for a living wage.
