All of these exercises are great especially for young athletes that are still developing. Opening up your hips and learning a proper hip hinge is essential to improve athletic performance. Another big tip I wanted to add is the importance of improving hip flexor mobility, jumping with tight hip flexors is like driving car with parking brake on. Foam rolling and proper stretching will help those areas. And one of the biggest contributions to a nice vertical is having a lean body fat percentage that proportional to your lean body mass

@@kevinisthebest2004 I haven’t really been working on plyometrics lately, but there’s definitely been an increase in my vertical. I used to could only grab rim with one had now I can touch it (not grab) it with two. Footwork plays a part in it also. Taking that penultimate “long” step will get your vertical higher too. I recommend watching Steven Celi’s old videos on KZitem. The information provided here is good too, though.

Coach Rock, I REALLY NEED AN ANSWER PLEASE, I am in middle schooler that plays basketball pretty well I saw your video on how to shoot the ball perfectly a from a while ago and I today I went to practice and was debating with my coach whether or not I should shoot the ball above my knee ( a little bit in front of my right eye.) or a little bit to the right. When I saw the video on how to shoot the ball perfectly I saw that you talked about a target eye. My target eye is my right eye and I am right handed. I am a great shooter maybe about 85% from the free throw line and a good 3 point shooter. If you could please comment and PLEASE tell me whether or not I should shot the ball slightly in front of my left eye or a little to the side of my face. Always, thank you so much for how much you helped me and will keep helping me throughout my journey in basketball. Thanks I really appreciate it.

Hey there coach. I know my question doesn't relate to this video, however would like your advice on this matter. I'm a dad with a daily job, i only have one hour of work out time everyday before going to work, which sometimes i skip due to workload the day before. I'm overweight 110kg for my height 5'8. Currently i am playing for one of the basketball club, which i always have to excuse myself due to my lack of stamina and my heavy body as i can't keep up. Hope you have a workout or a meal plan that you can suggest to me to become better in basketball.

Speaking from experience, kettlebell swings are THE BEST exercise for jumping higher AND running faster! I cannot state this enough. This is the most important exercise for any athlete. All athletic power comes from the hips. You must do the kettlebell swing, russian style: no help from the arms, all hip snap to swing the KB.
