@@Suzanne2909 thanks for your reply. I bet that some of the things you first started with a less of a struggle now! There's always some new aspect of the instrument that are getting under our fingers. Haha, it never ends, I really enjoy jazz guitar and so I'm in the same boat as there's always something new to learn and get comfortable at. What sort of songs are you wanting to learn?

@@GuitarPracticeHub Im busy with Brothers in Arms at the moment. I like Wicked Game, Africa (Toto), Hey Joe etc I think I lean more towards soloing, more interesting than strumming, also I love all the riffs of rock bands like Pink Floyd, Sweet child O mine etc of course the bar chords are a nightmare at the moment but I will get there. I play everyday but going nowhere lol😁

Hey James, thanks mate! Really glad you find it helpful, so much more to come too. Check out some other pentatonic practice sessions on our channel for some more approaches to it. Is there something in particular that you'd like help with for your guitar playing?

So how do I use this once I learn it?

Hi Gerry, thanks for checking out the pentatonic scale with us! So, that's a great question. Here's a video teaching a guitar solo that uses this scale 95% of the time.. Please check it out and let me know how you go. The pattern is played a bit further up the neck starting on fret 7.
Another great question! The red dots are labelled red, they're the root note of the scale. The scale is 5 notes repeated in octaves. We're playing the notes A, C, D, E & G in this video. In this instance, each red dot is the note A. You've given me a great idea for another video though, doing some quick theory about this scale.
