Doing research of the haunted house I grew up in, came across a newspaper article from the early 1940s. A family’s son had been repeatedly reported by neighbors to police as having abused neighborhood children. Police did nothing, so eventually the grown son was found “de-membered in an open lot in an adjacent county.” Police considered the possibility neighbors had taken prosecution of the supposed offender into their own hands, following the death of the man’s father. The spirit of that child offender haunted our home and attacked us kids, in our dreams or as we were just nodding off, of woke in the cold dark night by our covers being torn off. Subsequent families who moved in had children report abuse and harassment from this spirit, and there were fires burning down construction to a kitchen wall my stepdad put in that had paranormal activity captured along it, and one older child with the abuser’s same first name contracted cancer and died within the first several months he and his mother lived in our old home.

We lived in a creepy haunted house in the 80's. The houses were for families struggling which we were at the time. It was originally a duplex but converted to a large home. My room had the most activity, I couldn't keep warm in the room, my light bulbs would explode everytime I tried to light up the room with a new light bulb. A pet we had attacked me in the room with no provocation. The last straw for my 12 year old self was hearing something call my name three times. The voice was so evil and demonic I can't even describe it to you. The sun was shining beautifully outside. I was just sitting on my bed reading. The was the last day I was in that room. Fast forward years later I met a man who worked maintenance for those particular houses. They are still there! And he told me they were over 100 years old. So really no telling what happened in them. My room was above a cellar, I was mischievous and tried to get in there but it was locked. I remember that in front of the cellar rarely got light because of trees and no matter what time of year that particular area was always cold.
@tpark4444

We also had multiple face to face experiences with a shadow man in a trench coat and wide brimmed hat, who brought ice cold air around us, no sound, and tore off our bedcovers or clothes on several occasions. He felt life-threatening. We also had an attic door in my room like Paranormal Activity movie. It had an antique latch that swung over top and then thrust right to latch tight. No way a breeze or jiggle could unlock that thing every night. We propped the bedroom door open over the attic door using a mini Hoover push sweeper, which was ineffective at stopping the attic door from opening all the way, pushing our bedroom door shut or nearly shut and scaring us to death many times a week. We girls were terrified to change or be in that room alone. The family that moved in with 4 kids and a stepdad had the exact same situation and used same sweeper to lock the door, to no avail. His daughter only lived there 6 months each year, so that’s when the activity was worst, toward her mostly. I made him a believer, and they all moved out quickly. Glad I saved them years of terror and family dispute. Like me, that girl, 12 going on 13, had the radio and tv in the room come on by themselves and change stations. Why at first I thought it was poltergeist, but it fed on our fear energy, I believe. As I learned more, I felt there was an evil or demonic entity doing all of it. My mom even heard her name called from upstairs in our bedroom, after we moved out and she was doing last minute cleaning. She thought someone was prank scaring her. Started halfway up the stairs after hearing her name and invited to come join the party, with clinking glasses, victrola music and laughter. Then, all three bedroom doors slammed shut at the same time. No windows or doors open to cause a weird draft or explain that! She ran outside to wait to be picked up by my stepdad in a half hour. Jumped in the car and said she had a headache, just drive! When they got to our new house, she sent stepdad back for cleaning supplies left behind. He came back white as s sheet, normally very red weathered face from working outside. All he said was, my scary stories must have influenced him, as the house seemed creepy with nothing in it. Heh heh. He finally got a taste of the fear I lived with.

The cannibal cop didn't stop at thought though. He spread those thoughts to others. He gave, those he told, ideas and backed it all up with research on actual potential victims. Many people have thoughts and fantasies that, if acted upon, would get them many years in jail. In fact, I believe this to mostly be normal. And yes, some people take their fantasizing further than others, maybe even making real plans that COULD be acted upon. Maybe with others - exchange with like-minded people is something very human, we all do it. What separates normal people from vile monsters is whether or not they actually act upon these thoughts and fantasies. But what happens only in your own head? That is sacrosanct, and nobody has the right to send you to jail for it. Now, should Valle be charged for abusing a criminal database and committing data security violations? Yes, absolutely. And he was.

Think about the mindset you have to have to become a cop. “I want to spend my life being the determining factor of whether someone is arrested.” Yea sometimes it cut and dry. But other times it’s “ Well I could cut him a break or let him go but it’s cold outside and if I arrest him I’ll be warm at the station and just spend the rest of my shift doing paperwork in there.” That might destroy someone’s life even if the charge gets thrown out in court the damage is down but the cop 99% of the time will have no blowback. Someone making 50k and doesn’t require a college degree shouldn’t be the one holding that much power

Regarding red rooms if the human mind can think of something you can guarantee that someone will act on it. Sadly their is no limit to the darkness that exists within the human race. Luckily most of us are pretty much ok!

According to the National Missing and Unidentified Persons (NamUS) database, which is funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 600,000 people go missing annually. Approximately 4,400 unidentified bodies are recovered each year.

Probably more actually. I've read that the national forests don't report the correct number because it would deture people from coming, and lose money.

These truly were chilling… As always Joel, thank you for going into enough detail to give the real story, but not too much. Most of the time I have to turn these types of stories off (told by other narrators, not you) because I can’t handle it. But you did nicely on these. I think being hyper-sensitive to all the victims out there healing & dealing with their own struggles everyday, makes you a great human.

@@Mr.WesteryI'm not sure why you're spamming the comment section pretending to be Joel, but if it's to get some traffic on your channel you're doing it wrong. For one, you must think we're dumb. We know who this channel belongs to. Most of us have been here for years. Another thing, a lot of subscribers will take offense to your pretending. If you wanted to advertise your channel the best way is to make a comment asking people to check it out, not spamming some weird crap just so people will click on your pic and visit to see what's up.

45:20 so there was a story posted on Reddit 6+ years ago where a person runs into a blue shipping container inside a ranch in Australia. When inside, the guys find computer servers, files and pictures of c*. Now given the vastness of the are, they had to a while back call authorities. By the time they got back, the container was set on fire and it was empty. I wonder if it was related.

Hi Joel, I appreciate the historical accounts of the dark web. Before I whittled down my subscriptions of "true scary story" channels, I'd heard some horrific, but ridiculous-sounding stories, like someone logged onto the dark web, clicked on something and someone appeared right at their house or someone on t he dark web had promised to kill the viewer's boss, but then after figuring out that the boss really wasn't a bad guy, a bunch of people showed up and killed him, that sort of thing. I believe corners of the dark web are used for illicit material, be it child-exploitation material (as your stories show), weapons or drugs. But some of the more fantastical things just didn't sound logical. Thanks for bringing some reality to the topic.
