The K5o is super interesting. He should be donking AI with all his bluffs weaker than A-high. Even though we still can not value bet AQ or KK/AA without a diamond. You mentioned him possibly heroing with 88/99 w one diamond - thats pretty bad since we have more bluffs than value bets in that region. However, he should pure fold KQ and AQ calling only with Ad. Btw you have literally 0ev in the check back line xD Obv. betting is even worse for the reasons you have mentioned:) Gl gl, nice videos keep it up!

Jarretman, do you hide your HUD so the screen isn't so cluttered for these videos or do you just hide the HUD in general? I'm very curious because your approach seems so be so hugely based on the technicals of game theory that I wonder if you're just seldom trying to exploit and mainly trying not to be exploited, so that you don't bother with a HUD and use tracking software mainly for studying off the table?
@Jarretman

I basically don't use HUD other than to quickly identify fun players. In the videos I play with it turned off and when I play off video I have it on, but rarely, if ever, look at it.

The K5o hand that you 3b BvB and double barrelled; you were right, you cant bet a Q otr for value, overpairs with a diamond do bet however. Also, your combo is a giveup as you have so many one diamond hands to bluff. The few none diamond bluffs seem to want to block TT-88 and double block 7xs

can someone plz clarify this for me? 2:56 'versus 10% we'd call' it means that we probably call this hand vs. 10% 3b range? or it means we probably call this hand 10% of the time by RNG?

Folding AQo preflop at 35:00 on table 2 is mind blowing to me. Why not just call getting better than 2:1 closing the action in position? I'm sure it has to do with the squeezing and calling range of the two opponents, but could you break that down a little more? Really great video, very instructive! Thanks!

@@Jarretman recently i've changed from never having used a HUD before, and now even though it's definitely more profitable to use, it's made poker less about playing cards and about being a bot and exploiting people with a read of their statistics...makes the game kinda boring but i can't help but stick with using a HUD

Why is AJ off type hands much worse to 3bet when being a little deeper ?
@synchronium24
3 жыл бұрын
AJo has no suitedness so it's weak on 3-flush boards and it can be dominated on A-high boards by AQ (AK either dominates it by flatting or forces it to fold by 4betting). On the bright side, it can make the nut straight or a strong two pair. I was very surprised at the fold here, though I guess I shouldn't be. I believe AJo is a cusp 3bet SB vs. CO even at 100BB. It's just that I'm used to weaker opponents, so I exploitatively 3bet it from the SB against HJ (always) and LJ (sometimes). EDIT: FWIW, Jarretman responded to another comment on this topic saying that suited aces and suited connectors are better 3bet candidates than AJo when deep.
@JICM25
3 жыл бұрын
@@synchronium24 But he says that it´s worse to 3bet because he´s deeper which means the depth of his stack afects this. That´s what I don´t get, why being deeper means you should 3bet this kind of hands less ?
@synchronium24
3 жыл бұрын
@@JICM25 When you're deeper, there is an increased cost to making a strong but second best hand. For this reason, you want hands that can make the nuts. At 40 big blinds effective, you can safely get in a strong top pair, even though occassionally you will be beat. Whereas at 130BB (even moreso at 200BB+ deep), you're most likely losing your stack if you get all the money in with top pair, decent kicker. I gave two examples of how AJo could be dominated like this in my previous comment. With that in mind, let's return to Jarretman's suggestion of 3betting suited aces and suited connectors. Whenever a suited ace make a flush, it will always be the nut flush. Additionally, suited aces will have more opportunities to profitably semi-bluff when they make flush draws. Suited connectors are a bit of a mysterious choice since when they make a flush, they actually risk being dominated by higher flushes. If I had to guess why they're still included, it'd be that they can easily make straights and don't tend to interact very much with the opener's range. So when they make a pair or two pair, they have a good chance to win a small to medium pot (but they probably wouldn't want to get all the money in).

I know that must be inconvenient to u man, but i would love to see u de playing nl25 zoom (with no antes), and talking about how much tigher we should or can play cause rake/ or maybe talking about strategies like 4beting all continue range OOP cause rake and so on. Im struggling a lot on nl25, i have pio and i try to bluff the right frequencys and get a lot frustrated vs the light call downs on nl25, then i think i should never triple barrel bluff as a exploit and see villan winning with a hand they should fold on river. Dont know what to do.

What I take away from your videos not withstanding the great content, is how relaxed you are about every situation, maybe that comes from being a proven winner, idk. A couple of questions please. You say AJo etc is not a 3 bet 130 deep but what type hands are now better 3 bets, is it sc's or just hands that can make the nuts and is it similar facing a squeeze? Its kinda hard to find literature for when facing a squeeze as to how to proceed.
@Jarretman
3 жыл бұрын
you 3bet slightly less overall so we dont neccessarily need to worry about replacing some offsuit hands that we lost. but yes suited aces and suited connectors are the hands that increase
