Just a helpful tidbit (whether or not you know of it or not) for changing pitches you can just click the tab where it says velocity (it's a drop down) and select fine note pitch and use the little "trees" at the bottom to change the pitch. Also you can do pitch shifts (I love using them on crashes to make a "Pewwwssshhh" noise) by clicking the triangle in the green box in the upper left and placing a note under which ever slice you want to pitch shift. The lower the note is on the roll the lower the pitch it will shift to (i guess that's kind of obvious) and the length of the pitch shifting note determines how fast the note on the piano roll will shift. I have no idea if you know this shit or not I just thought it was cool when I found out about it.

I am not sure about that. I'm also kind of confused to be honest in with what you're asking (sorry). I assume you want lower pitch notes to not overlap high pitch ones (?) and to answer that the only thing that you could probably do is just nudge the crossfade of the sample up a little in the little wrench menu thingy on the sampler (in the upper right of the sampler, it appears in most every vst). This makes it so that the sample only plays for whatever the length of the sample itself is. This doesn't necessarily answer your question but it stops notes from overlapping each other.

I was wondering how people did it lol I've spent about 2 weeks trying to found out how to do this, but I actually decided to watch this one instead of skipping ahead. I didn't know slicex did that and now im mad at myself for not paying attention

the british and german started making jungle more heavy and glitchy, then the japanese came, its a weird story, it is still jungle but even nowadays it has a lot of elements from glitch music, gabber, moomba schranz and noisecore, some even go to the insane bpms of splittercore, plus a lot of japanese otaku culture influence.

@@sockettgirl Interesting. Well I'm British and I grew up through the Jungle early years experiencing the birth of what is known as Drum & Bass. Big, Deep, Scary basslines are my thing, this new skool sound doesn't really do it for me.... I guess I'm now finally old. 🤣😂

@@01Peebee10 yea i kinda got that vibe too, DnB doesnt focus as much on glitching the drums as much as breakcore does, some songs are completely devoid of bassilines, breakcore focuses 90% on drums and 10% on the rest DnB is still going strong man, and theres a whole another world of bass music to explora, its a brave new world

I'd say this video is just showing you the tools and techniques to make your own stuff and make it as complex as you want. This isn't even a 4 bar loop to call it anything.

wow wow, I need me some fruityloops! I've been using stagelight and have just been cutting up drum loops piece by piece, tedious stuff. Doesn't help stagelight crashes frequently and you lose everything. Welp, I'm off to get fruityloops and will be back, thanks

You can go in (File → New from template → Minimal→ Empty) to have an empty project without the shitty overused Kick, Clap, Hat and Snare.

My PC is dead but here are more of my breakcore/glitchcore tips: • Crank up the Timebase/PPQ in Project settings for more precision. • Avoid overusing dBlue Glitch (or even Gross Beat), otherwise change/automate the parameters; you can disable its Modulation/AM/FM ringing thing and set the probability percentages for the various effects of being triggered. There's also Effectrix (which isn't free). • Get creative with Slicex, you can record (or render instead) your project with Edison and reuse it in Slicex as a sample (however it saves on your disk in the Sliced beats folder). • Learn music theory for the sake of jazzy chord progressions, or right-click the pen tool in piano roll to select different chords (e.g. m7, m11, Maj7, 9, aug, sus2), you can also shift notes by octaves. • Use Pure Data, or other DAWs for more interesting sounds (then edit in FL Studio). • Look up other dynamic, saturation, transient shaper compression VSTs. • Do not layer too many instruments/sounds unless you're making ambiences, it makes it sound “watery”, so does it when you add too many effects in the master, you want the breakbeats to sound sharp. • Download SoundFonts, most are also free but might require a VST SF player in newer versions of FL Studio (since it fell out of use). • Use other reverb, filter, flanger VSTs. • Sometimes use very short convolution reverb samples to make it sound like it's being played in a room in real life. • Plunderphonics and sound collages are vital in breakcore, it's all about the art of sampling, like what hip-hop is.
