nice video! i know all these comments mention other ideas for upgrades or question upgrading this gun at all, but i appreciate you following up with your video after saying you’d update us on how you upgrade it. and it’s just nice to see how you personally did!

Nothing wrong with your suggestions. Freedom for ALL. That said, for the new people out there watching: In one man’s opinion, THE TWO MOST IMPORTANT PARTS of an ar are The barrel and The BCG. Compromise elsewhere if you need but spend some $$ on those two parts and you’ll have a rig that lasts significantly longer than mil spec.

Don’t disagree! I hope people do much more research than just listening to one guntuber. Barrel and BCG are part of the Phase 2 upgrades for this rifle :)

Best upgrade I ever did for my m4 style pa15 was changing the buffer to an H1 buffer. Perfectly cost effective upgrade that improves the shoot ability. They’re like 12 bucks.

@@MrBigKid like everyone else, a day by day thing. Blessed and grateful. I hope you’re all doing well too. I noticed Nashville is rapidly growing more! I started following an IG channel XPLR NASH and I am taken back by all the progress and growth. Oracle is apparently setting up a large presence out there!

good video man, I would go a different direction. If I am not suppressing a gun I am keeping the flash hider. I might go with the heavier buffer and a low mass bcg, to reduce recoil and I would stop there other than a red dot, light, and sling.

If you are going through all of that you might as well roll your own starting with a higher quality barrel and receivers as the price difference is negligible and will do the most for reliabiliity and accuracy since PSA qa is no bueno.

The bird cage is fine unless shooting prone. The recoil mitigation would have been resolved purchasing a midlength gas system in the first place. The milspec trigger for someone who's mechanically inclined. Can be made crisp at 3.5 to 4 pounds of pull with 30 minutes of time. Without cutting a spring leg off. The safety is wax on wax off. If it works. It's not a big deal. Grip angle is personal preference. The butt stock is a solid upgrade for cheek weld. Yes, I'm cheap. I'm not one for whistles and bells. Solid video presentation.

Shouldn’t you just buy a free floated version at that point? Maybe you did it for the review I get that but another thing people who don’t shoot a lot don’t realize is how nice it is to have the MOE Handguard especially when putting alot of rounds down range fast you can hold onto the gun without a glove. When you go to free float you have to add a heat wrap and even with it it gets hotter due to no heat shield. If I had to mag dump multiple mags fast for some reason I would want the moe Hand guard over a free floated one. Both have their place but I believe this is why the military used the standard hand guard for so long

You need a red dot a light and a sling way before any of these products, I think that should have been mentioned at least
@MrBigKid

Not necessarily. I think an optic and sling would be a good idea, however I was leaning more towards “things to change out” vs “things to add”

My couple of cents, even though nobody cares. * Flash hiders mo betta! Run brakes on competition guns. Flash hiders on serious guns. * PSA has very good and reasonably priced triggers. Even a new DLC two stage for a reasonable price. * I'd maintain the OE safety and train to "run the safety" before bothering with spending money on something else. Besides, you only need that extra speed on room entries. * H2 buffer bro! Makes a huge difference on carbine length guns with the standard springs. * Don't go to a free float. Rock a full length drop in and keep the existing gas block. IT'S PINNED IN PLACE. Bombproof! * If you insist on a free float, make sure IT'S NOT A PINCH LOCK!!! They suck! Cam lock! Breek, Cross Machine Tool, etc... * If you insist on a free float but don't like the front site post, cut it off! You can do it without ruining the gas block. The you'll still have a pinned block that you paid no extra money for. Have fun! 🙂

CR23 Batteries don’t fit in those compartments. Double As are about as big as it takes. I was hoping they would hold 18650s and CR123s but unfortunately my sopmod stock by B5 doesn’t.

For the price of those upgrades I would rather get a CHF /Crome lined barrel, double or life of button cut , nitrated

Understandable. Depends on what is important to the owner. Personally this rifle isn’t going to see a high round count and isn’t my go-to. For my purposes, I don’t think a barrel investment would be worth it over the ergonomic and functionality upgrades
@mikethomas4598

For the demographic looking at this rifle, an optic ammo and a class serve them far better than your upgrades.

Well… I don’t disagree, however the topic of this video is about upgrades for performance and ergonomics. Not everyone that buys a PSA is a first time gun owner. Some might have ammo and training.

In my opinion, all these "upgrades" are pointless for this rifle. The only legit upgrade I would do to this gun is put a micro red dot on it. Spend the rest of the money on ammo and go train. If you want a better gun, put the money from these components in a jar and save up for your ideal rifle. Don't keep throwing money at a basic rifle. You'll eventually end up with an effectively new rifle and a box of cheap parts that you took off. You will have spent double and still have just one rifle that is still a PA 15.
@zib714

Agreed. This would be a good truck gun or back up weapon, as is. Light weight. I wouldn't put much, if any money into it. Also good for someone new to the AR platform.
@MrBigKid

That’s understandable and not a bad plan. However some people might buy this rifle with no upgrade intentions and decide to upgrade down the line. These are all extremely easy to do and can be easily swapped to another rifle. That said, with the low cost of some of these it’s not much of an investment. Some of these comments gave me a great idea for a video, so I appreciate the feedback

I just got one, blem, the round heat shield. I did put the A2 carry handle on it, it’s a tack driver. As long as I’m doing my part the rifle hits target. I’d buy 4 of these before I’d pay 2K for something Gucci.

@@michaelolin2219at the end of the day it dies its job. I'm new to ars but have handled other guns all my life. I've seen these from $400-$3k and unless something is a quality or reliability issue I'd stick with basic functionality, although it does seem very customizable and that is a nice thing

No… I made this $400 rifle a $700 rifle. Some people don’t have the lump some of money to invest in a more expensive rifle. Some people can only slowly upgrade an existing rifle. …..later
