I was diagnosed with spinal stenosis about 5 years ago and I was told that if I didn’t have the surgery, I wouldn’t be able to walk in 5 years. It’s been 5 years now and I still can walk. However, now it seems I have more pain on my left leg - the very tight hamstring, calves, ankle, side of my foot and my 3 toes are numb. I have good and bad days. I have been doing therapy and all the exercises you demonstrated I have been doing. I like them all! It really helps! All I want is for the pain and numbness disappear. I’m still hopeful I’d get better and will not need surgery. Thank you.

Hi Laura. I'm pleased my exercises have been beneficial for you and good on you for not being pressured into surgery if it wasn't necessary. I've never been a fan of fear mongering, instead, simply do a thorough examination and explain ALL of the options to the patient. In your case, I would recommend that you go for another examination from a qualified health professional. Over your 5 years, it is possible that you have developed different conditions that may in fact be treatable - never assume that it's always the same thing. Keep up the good work.

Hi Cindy. Watch for one of my videos where I talk about Lou. 7 years of back pain where he was taking 6 Gabapentin and 9 Tylenol every day. Now he takes zero pills.

You have described my situation perfectly. I was diagnosed in 2019 when I had an episode. I made a pretty good recovery but the doc said I would be back in 4-5 years and like clockwork I'm worse now. Good luck to you. I have exactly the same symptoms as you. I just turned 69. Take care.

I am 76 diagnosed with spinal stenosis 10 years ago. Visited my chiropractor weekly for 8 months and surgeon took X-rays and said I had no bulging discs and my back was stable and actually recommended against surgery with the low level of discomfort I had. I agreed and have been doing exercises since. Thank you for adding some I need to do as I have gotten lazy and more sedentary.

So many excercises on you tube for spinal stenosis. These were so easy to remember and I actually felt my back pop several times. All were very beneficial for me

Hi cindym. You're absolutely right - there are so many online exercises to sort through and they're often not appropriate for everyone. That's why I carefully selected these to be beneficial, safe, and easy to remember. I'm pleased they're helping you.

I'm mostly troubled by the numbness. If I stand for too long, I will get nerve pain in my leg but that eases up with rest. But the numbness really freaks me out. I went to a chiropractor for adjustments and have only been once so far. What types of adjustments (generally speaking) can be helpful for lumbar stenosis? I have osteoarthritis and some disc degeneration. Also, what do you think about accupuncture for this condition? Thanks.

@@DrJohnZielonka Btw,my numbness n tightness has been on for six weeks. I have been doing physio ie traction and heat treatment. Just worrying that my next coming appointment with the Doctor and he would mention that l might need six screws ie fusions l think. Should l carry on with medication and physio. And not do MRI second time which I think the Doctor might suggest , furthermore I don’t suffer any pains on my back or legs.

We're so sorry to hear of your pain. Consider seeking out someone who utilizes Non-Surgical Robotic Laser Spinal Decompression. Also consider a good neuro-functional chiropractor for the knife-like shoulder blade pain. This could very well be a significant rib subluxation that is often missed. (Hard to take a deep breath in? Referring heart-attack like pain?)
