@@Osprey1994people do buy them, yes. It does seem weird though that nobody talks about them on a day to day outside of list videos like they do Glocks or whatever the new hotness is. Because of that, it seems nobody feels the need to talk about them.

I’m in between G19 gen 5 or a PDP for a second EDC option. It’s hard, I love how the PDP looks and all the great reviews I’ve seen, but I wonder if it makes a good EDC since it’s a little chunkier than the G19. Any suggestions?

I have four Springfield XDM models and they all shoot great, they are accurate and have been 100% reliable. HS Products makes great guns. Right now my edc alternates between my XDM Elite 3.8 9mm with Green Dot and a CZ P07 in .40, both are great carry options. I added Talon grip to both, the smoother version with a strip of the rough on the front and backstrap.

So I'm on the fence......i love my Glocks and go between my 19 and 43 for my daily (both customized). I also have a Q5 Match that i love too. Trying to decide between 2 on this list since i can only afford 1. The Shadow Systems you mentioned or the PDP SD Pro? I love them both and looking for honest opinions from someone like you with lots of time behind both. Thanks for the advice!
@douglovettjr

I’ve had the Shadow Systems MR920 elite since it was released and had a Walther PDP (not the pro) but traded it for the PDP F not long after it was released. All 3 are great shooting and mine were all 100% reliable other than a handful of hiccups from the Shadow during the 1st 100 rounds or so but after that haven’t had one issue in 2-3000 rounds. The Walther PDP F just feels better to me in the hand as well as the draw and to me personally has the best trigger from the factory other than the CZ which I also have the S model. If I had to pick one or the other between the Shadow or PDP I’d take the Walther for sure. Being honest I really like the look of the Shadow Elite but after shooting pretty much all of the striker fired handguns I personally believe the trigger on the Shadow as well as the Glocks is unacceptable and nothing anyone can say to make me believe any different. Do they shoot good, shoot flat and more accurate than us humans will ever be handheld shooting, yes! Those positives are fantastic but the lack of having a real defined wall followed by a good clean or hell let’s say even a cleanish break minus all the ridiculous mush/spongy feeling throws them out of the competition for myself personally. You can buy whatever connector you want and put an aftermarket trigger in them but your just dressing up a pig and throwing money away in my opinion when you can get others that are good to go all around for the same cost pretty much. You do have the choice of putting a Johny Glock complete trigger replacement in them if you’re cool with dumping $300 more into your brand new gun if you choose but again personally I think that’s insane. This is just my opinion guys so all of you Glock lovers take it easy I’m not saying either of them aren’t fine guns, they just aren’t on the same level as many others all around dollar for dollar. Hope this helps you brother.

I would agree with you on both the PDP and the M&P. I have had the gen 1 PDP 4.5in for several years and last week picked up the PDP Pro SD Pro and I have to say it feels amazing and shoots great. As for the M&P 2.0. I took one in a trade after never having shot or really even considered M&P. I have to say it quickly became my EDC and one of my favorite guns to shoot.

Having run a plethora in testing over the years, I’m still sticking with my G19s (and frankenglock/Roland Special-inspired hybrid). Took a class with Robert Vogel last weekend. 2 main takeaways: 1: Rob is still blazing fast and a good instructor. 2: it’s more about the user versus the gun. That being said; Caniks had more issues than anything else. If you ever feel like taking a break from gun reviews, I’d like to hear about your take on watches and battle/competition/duty belt setups.

My go-to is the Sig P365 series. Whether it's the X, XL, or X Macro, the modularity and aftermarket options are great and it is a great do-all choice. As for the grip texture, the Wilson Combat grip is an affordable option and more aggressive than the stock Sig or you can go for another aftermarket option in metal like the Icarus Precision grips.

I was going to ask how you liked the Radian backstrap/magwell combo. The price is a little high, but definitely feasible. So many different options! FDEZ Werx has good options, NDZ has some awesome options, and Sig Guy has awesome options that are the most affordable. NDZ and Radian have the aluminum concept that's similar. Awesome list!

Great list. I am partial to Shadow Systems because I can run Glock magazines, but I also love the CZ and M&P pistols. The PDP trigger I tried seemed a little light for a carry gun. Ive avoided the x-Macro because of the initial rust issues. I also avoided the Sig because the magazines ar around $50 each.

I’m in between the CZ P10 and S&W M&P 2.0. From what I’ve seen, sounds like the CZ is a bit better but am leaning towards the M&P since it is American made. With CZ being foreign, is it harder to get parts, etc?
@tallen6641

It’s a popular platform and so CZ has supported it very well. Service is based in the US. By comparison, Colt ( before it was acquired) is domestic and was impossible to work with. So I think the issue is muddled and is more company by company.

As far as a favorite goes, from your picks, I really like the P365 because of the modularity and ability to go from a 10 round pocket pistol to a sub compact with 17 rounds. Shalotec has outdone the competitors with the modularity capabilities. Honestly I'm still on the fence about getting a new grip module/frame or leaving it as is with the Sharps Bro's and VZ Operator 2 grips. On another note, Shadow Systems is doing something that no other manufacturers are doing when it comes to a carry gun. I'm super intrigued and would love to get my hands on a full size and conceal Shadow Systems.

So Glock was my first pistol, and I immediately did that backstrap chop modification to help tame the grip angle a little. I was at my local gun store a week ago and tried out the Shadow Systems. And I will admit, I shoulda went with one of those. That one fits great, and it just has everything I would want or need in a handgun without adding it later.

Yet another awesome informative video from your sight. I am one of those folks who would rate all the Glocks I have owned in the 3 out of 5-star ratings in all areas but for one. I tried many years ago the H&K P30 and shot that pistol awesomely. However, in my area I just couldn't get past the $1000 price tag, where my G19, and G34 were both $400 price tag at that time. Thanks again for the awesome info. (:
