@SkatterBencher

In theory yes, but in practice I don't see much performance improvement. However, in rare cases the V/F curve of the Ring can interfere with the V/F curve of the P-cores, causing the voltage for the shared voltage rail to be higher than needed for the P-cores. Hence, I usually leave the Ring at default for Raptor Lake daily overclocking

I have same motherboard and cpu but it’s the kf version am I able to copy exact settings ?

I would never recommend just copying my settings. My advise is always to watch the full length overclocking guide so you can understand how everything works kzitem.info/news/bejne/opWY1aKXnqhihYY

@@tilapiadave3234 Riley is right because parts of the VRM will be an awful lot hotter over time. I would only trust this method if I had a thermal imaging camera to see exactly where the hot spots are.

should the "a.i. overclock" feature just work out of the box? i'm having struggles...
@SkatterBencher
Жыл бұрын
Yes, it should work fine. But before you enable AI OC, you have to stress-test the system for ~30min with Cinebench, Prime95, XTU, Realbench, or something along those lines. Otherwise the algorithm won't know how good your cooling solution is.

@@SkatterBencher ok i'll try it all over again, i only did the 10 minute cinebench to set the algorithm, but i did it multiple times with temps only reaching 92 on one core, 2 otehrs got to 90. using artic liquid freezer II 280. seems stable with the ram on xmp II tweaked so i'm thinking it's cpu related. it's really bumming me out i can't seem to get a stable o.c. out of the a.i. o.c.

If it still doesn't work, you can always adjust the Optimism Scale value from 100 to 95 or 90 That will make the AI OC less aggressive and should improve stability

can you explain how the ( SVID behavior ) works on the asus z790 boards , please I need It , I have It activated in ( the best case scenario) , but when I do a CPU-Z or user benchamark test , I get the blue crash screen
@SkatterBencher

SVID Behavior adjusts the AC/DC LL (LoadLine), where best case is AC LL=0.01 (lowest) and worst-case some higher value. If AC LL = 0.01, then the voltage VID requested by the CPU to the voltage regulator will match 1:1 the CPU's factory-fused voltage-frequency curve. If AC LL > 0.01, then the voltage VID requested by the CPU to the voltage regulator will have a small (positive) offset to the voltage request. So the effective voltage will be slightly above the factory-fused voltage. If your VRM loadline is flat, so no Vdroop when the load increases, then setting AC LL=0.01 should be no issue. However, all motherboards have a VRM loadline configured. There are specific reasons for that, primarily related to small spikes in voltage overshoot and undershoot. The effect of VRM loadline is that the voltage regulator will manage the output voltage according to the load. For a given requested voltage, the effective output voltage will be lower as the load increases. The real-world effect of AC LL = 0.01 and a VRM LLC is that the effective voltage under a high load will effectively be lower than the CPU factory-fused voltage-frequency curve. For example, let's say the CPU needs 1.2V for 5.5G for stability. - If AC LL = 0.01, then CPU requests 1.2V from the voltage regulator - If VRM LLC = flat, then VRM will output 1.2V to the CPU (but there will be overshoot) - If VRM LLC = not flat, then the VRM will output 1.2V at no load and perhaps 1.15V at maximum load. That will cause instability of our CPU needs 1.2V. While some CPUs may be able to run stable when undervolted, not all can. If you wish to use SVID best case, you can also change the VRM LLC to a less steep loadline. Hope this helps :)
