I'm a long term owner of the Kawasaki Vulcan S 650, having had it for over 2 years. In this review I basically explain the top 5 things I love about the Kawasaki Vulcan S and why you need one right now.
1. Performance - The Kawasaki Vulcan S packs a parallel twin cylinder 649cc engine that outputs 54hp. Which allows the rider to go from 0-60mph in 4 to 5 seconds with ease. Its basically a combination between a sports bike (the ninja 650 in this case) and a cruiser. Kawasaki have done a great job at retaining the sports motorcycle qualities yet merging it with a cruiser to give you a great combo of comfort and performance. The engine is more low to mid range inclined and generates 45 ft-pounds of torque at 6600 rpm.
2. Handling - With an 18" tire on the front and a 17" tire on the rear, this resembles what most sports bikes do and the setup results in great handling. Plus the rest of the aerodynamic design of the bike and the higher foot pegs also allow you to take corners hard, watch how I take some of the corners in the video.
3. Ergonomics - Comfortable design, great rider seating position triangle. Adjustable foot pegs and handlebar controls that facilitate a rider as short as 5'6 up until 6'2.
4. Looks - although subjective, personally I think the Kawasaki Vulcan S 650 looks great. It has a teardrop shape petrol tank as well as a headlight that resembles something very cruiser orientated, however is a slim and agile looking panther of a bike.
5. Fuel efficiency - Thanks to the well designed engine, the Kawasaki Vulcan S can get up to 350kms on a full tank of petrol on highways and when you ride hard or have a city ride, that fuel efficiency drops significantly down to about 250kms. But yet, given the power and performance it still delivers a lot of mileage. 50 miles per gallon has been reported by several users on the mobile app Fuelly.
I hope you all enjoyed this Kawasaki Vulcan S review. Make sure you watch the video until the end to get the complete picture on whether you should get this bike or not.
