It's funny that people get upset when people test them when women are known for being manipulative and not honest. Yet we get tested in life your job tests you, your parents test you to see if they can trust you, even in school you take test yet those tests are ok, but a potential partner tests to see if you're worth it then its wrong, we all know people will tell you what you want to hear so testing your character is not wrong usually when people have an issue with being tested it's because they have something to hide or ain't ish 🤷🏽♀️

Y'all dont get it...we should ALL be "testing" the people we date. It's a vetting process to see who makes the cut, who's compatible, who holds the same mindset and values that you do. So many women are so desperate to get a man and get a ring on their finger, they're ready to commit to any dude that treats them decent, and ignore alllll the red flags that come along with him. It should takes months of dating someone before you know him well enough to even consider committing to him. And for all of you saying men aren't the prize...why do you want one so badly then? Here's my advice y'all : don't date someone who test you! this is what I noticed when men test women in the dating stage, most of the times even in marriage they'll test you and still not trust you. I have seen how one member in my family got tested so much by her husband that it caused a lot of issues in the marriage. He would control her, suspect her of cheating, and even abused her verbally and physically. So don't do it. This while testing thing shows that you don't trust your partner and trust is one of the fundamental in any given relationships. If you have to test me while we're dating, then you're not the person that I would like to spend the rest of my life with you. Boy bye.

@4u2cre8

The problem with being direct in situations like this is it doesn't work. If you ask a man "Are you irresponsible?" do you really think he's going to say, "Yeah I'm very irresponsible. I often avoid doing what I'm supposed to do." Of course not. You have to observe (test) how he operates, how he handles his responsibilities, if he's a man of his word, then you'll be able to discern for yourself how responsible he is.

It saddens me when I see that these males think this is the way to go. No wonder dating life is difficult now. A genuine woman will walk away as soon as she smells a game. Many guys chase away the one for the tolerant due to this level of foolishness. It just isn't the same thing. It's foolish to insinuate that a woman is just a potential baby maker for you. Also, what lady with her goals, career, and aspirations on point would deal with a guy always telling her that he is too broke to date her properly? What does that say for their future when real life issues manifest themselves? The men I have grown around don't carry their egos on satin pillows. Rejection is a part of life and the masses aren't waiting to stand around to pamper an over protected super sensitive person.

The definition of a good man is one who will communicate his goals, desires, concerns, and faults. The same is true with a good woman. The main issue I see with relationships today is a sense of importance over the other person: my needs matter, and you should meet them. Maybe we'll address yours, but me first. There's also this weird conception that a person is meant to be dependent on themselves while also cultivating a partnership with another person, which is a complete contradiction to the point. We gotta stop treating relationships like Monopoly and start seeing them like Jenga: sometimes it's shaky, sometimes it's solid, sometimes the bricks fall, but we build them back up and start over again.

(Sis, if he can’t handle you in your bonnet he’s not worthy of your twist out 😂👌🏾👌🏾) 2️⃣ We may watch how you treat your family. "Is he super condescending to his mom? beyond rude to his sister?" (naaahh sis, soon that may be you!) 3️⃣ If we feel like we the one doing all the chasing, we may just go mute for a little 🤷🏾♀️, we trying to see if it's all in our head or if you do reach out & connect with us even when we aren’t doing it 1st. (Sounds like games yeah, but I mean, how do you know unless you know 🤪😂🤷🏾♀️) and this one is a big one --> 4️⃣ We may tell you about our trauma. As a women I don't mind being tested. Being tested doesn't equate to playing games for me. Testing is gathering information and adding to what you already know, or seeing what a person states about themselves lines up. Playing games equate to LYING, a form of manipulation with no intent or interest in you just looking to get over. Women test men too especially smart ones. I know I definitely do. That's the problem with women. They invest their time and resources in men only to discover that these men are LIARS, ABUSERS, and USERS...damaged goods.

@@blackmoon3325 testing and manipulation is not the same. Your combining two different definitions creating a scenerio to fit how you feel . Manipulation is control. It's a dishonest way to get a person to do what you want them to do. When testing your measuring or finding out the quality and reliability of a person. Testing may be used to manipulate which I believe your trying to convey, but that's based on intent. However, to say that manipulation and testing are the same I agree to disagree.

@@blackmoon3325 please dont tell me how or what I understand, my comprehension is fine. When Teachers tests students what is the intent? It may be different for many but usually the intent isn't to manipulate students. In this video this guy is talking about the intent for marriage/serious relationships. You need to find out ahead a time if the person is a good fit for your life. The purpose of dating is to gather information. Personally speaking, If a person fails in areas that's important to me I'm not wasting my time. For an example integrity, I can't tolerate man who doesn't keep his word. If I ask (test) a person I'm dating to do something I don't necessarily NEED them to do, I'm observing to see how he responds or if he's consistent, to see if his actions line up with his words. I have no intent to control/manipulate him to behave or respond in a way that I desire. Either he has it or he don't. It isn't my job or responsibility to make sure a person has integrity. I'm not in the business of changing people, only God can do that. Like I said prior testing is not manipulation the two is solely based on intent. You can create thousands of scenarios to support your view which I don't knock because their are many factors to any scenerio. I'm just standing by my intial statement that testing and manipulation isn't the same thing .

Whether that be you bring him/her around your folks and seeing how they act and react, being in tough situations and seeing how they manage emergencies especially with you, or even seeing how they handle their money in times of finacial abundance. Alot of my friends, before we became best friends even admitted later on that they felt bad, because they misjudged me initially & thought I was "stuck up", but ironically turned out to be the only one that they trust with certain things, another thing I can attest to, sometimes a person's friends aren't always warm, welcoming, engaging convo either, which in turn causes the gf or bf to not feel too comfortable opening up! So I feel it's several factors to this, that should be considered to be fair! It definitely goes both ways!

I get it; some women don’t like the testing, but honestly, I do it too. This is how some men can be super efficient, categorize women, and choose who to ghost and who to move forward with. Men also play the numbers game, so they have several of these tests going on with multiple women. If you pay attention, the majority of men end up with great women because of this. I know it sounds bad, but when you know what you want and don’t want to waste time, you’ll do it this way.

And you miss out on some gems too. I don't respond to tests. If you do something or say something questionable that makes me walk away, I am not coming back. I want to know that I am marrying a man who would never make me feel disrespected. So that "testing" goes both ways. ✌️

Men end up with great women because there are more great women and also we live in patriarchy where women are groomed to be in relationships and serve men. It is not because of tests. That is why even though these men end up with great women, these women divorce them 70-80% of the time because they are not great men.

I feel like there are good tests and childish tests. Examples of good tests could be disclosing a personal insecurity (that youve already accepted) to see if it will be used against you, leaving wallet around to see if anything is taken out, asking specific questions, etc... examples of childish tests are starting fights, saying or doing hurtful things to see what the person would do...those tests get you left. You are looking for someone that aligns with your values and people tend to overlook these things about the character of the person they are dating because of their physical attraction. If you are looking for a serious relationship, you have tp get an idea of the full picture.

You’re absolutely right. It is good to meet his family and friends because it is also a good time to see the kind of friends he surrounds himself with and you can learn his family dynamics, which will help you understand him better. Additionally, you can learn a lot about a man by watching how he treats the women and elders in his family. Ultimately, meeting his family and friends is good for you also. Furthermore, it is good to bring him around your family and friends as well. Especially the men (the wise men, not the fools).

Communication is so important. Just say "In all seriousness, I need to know where you stand and how you feel." Some people are painfully shy and will only respond the way they think you want or out of a nervous habit, do the opposite of how they actually feel and think. You can't open up like that to everyone on a first meeting. If a man is always analyzing and testing, I might be feel self conscious and little myself and hold back my confidence.

Absolutely true especially the one about the type of date you go on. I've had women friends who wouldn't go out with any man unless they were spending hundreds (or more) per date especially in my youth who later wondered why they never ended up married or even engaged. I remember a date I went on just to get ice cream and talk (walk on the beach) and I was told how they'd never do that it was too cheap. The goal wasn't a nice meal it was to get to know him. 6 months after that date he dropped $40 grand on a ring and they were still just getting free dinner.

Yes. Thank you! The guy I’m with likes to test me with little comments and questions, to see my reaction. An example is, he made a joke about his spare room, being my room. A few weeks later he asked me if I wanted to move in with him. I love it. I’ve noticed that when he’s trying to communicate sensitive things (like if there is a fear of rejection for example), he always uses jokes. I’ve learned much more about how he really feels through his jokes, sure I’d prefer things to be more direct, but he’s a man, if he’s uncomfortable talking about his feelings that’s ok and I understand. I really don’t mind him not being so direct, I love the playfulness of it, it makes things feel light and silly instead of being to serious all of the time. I’ve always found his little tests to be endearing and adorable! I never feel like he’s playing games with me, we just have fun together and make learning each other enjoyable.

I have noticed something that really needs research, but if I am not that into a guy, I don't quite like his family nor his friends. But if I am in love with a guy it looks like I am "in love" with the whole family. That's why I think this is a great test and the truth! If your brother's wife or sister's husband don't like your family I don't think she/he is that into your brother or sister or is a little bit disappointed in your brother/sister or is going through a hurtful life with them!. As for him bringing me around his best friends and family, he has done that so many times that his sisters are now my sisters, and they low key tell me that he is ready for us to move to the next level. Weird that one of these examples in the beginning is him not having money for dinner. How would a good man a) not have enough $ for a meal for two and b) try to manipulate a woman into paying.. i think this is for a man who doesn’t want to be an equal half much less a family provider

People in the comments are confusing testing with playing games. They're not the same thing. Testing is seeing how someone will react in different situations. Everybody tests people, men, women, kids, parents, coworkers, EVERYBODY. Nothing wrong with that. In fact it's essential if you want to ensure you don't end up dealing with a horrible person. Playing games on the other hand is being deceitful, lying, cheating, etc. with the intention of taking advantage of someone, which is totally unacceptable.

Ladies DO NOT come off too strong in response to them coming off stronger than strong with the baby and marriage talk. Just get a joint bank account so he knows you are the one.

We all have our individual ways of seeing if we want to continue investing time with someone. I think the word "TEST" is throwing a lot of people off. We all need to have a measuring stick to gage a person we see as a potential life partner. Do your homework.

Vet is a better word I think. Instead of testing, they are vetting.

@@arielview1358 Vet is a better word than test. Vetting is subjecting someone to a thorough examination or evaluation. Personally, I prefer the power of observation over a period of time to see if a person's words line up with their actions. You can only fake it for so long. The true self always emerges. We just have to learn to operate in truth rather than dismissing or overlooking certain questionable behaviors, hoping they eventually change for the better. Be blessed!
