BR Large Logo liveried 56098 thrashes through Bryn Station on the morning of Sunday 04th February 2024. Running a mere 17+ hours late the Class 56 had been hired in by DCRail to operate the "sand train" to the Pilkington's Glass factory in St Helens. Actually that's a bit unfair, the train had been running 70+ minutes early until it got caught in the Saturday afternoon farce on the West Coast Main Line where overhead wire damage led to considerable disruption, after a delay of several hours the train was able to move but since the driver didn't sign the diversion route the train was stabled at the Royal Mail terminal near Warrington until the main line could open fully. This of course was very beneficial to us as it meant a daytime shot instead of one from a dark and rainy night.
It was back in November 2021 when I caught 56091 on a cold & wet night on this working and it was thrashing the proverbials off whilst also slipping and sliding like crazy, if you haven't seen that video then check it out here; • 56091 Screams Through ...
The official working was;
6M89 Warrington RMT - Ravenhead Sidings (for 6M89 Middleton Towers - Ravenhead Sidings)
