Lebanese Trail day 12
Stage: Tannorine El Faouga - Kaslik - Tannorine
Daily distance: 0km
Total: 234km
Today was dedicated to Habi. By the way, I will write what the plan is to bring the dog to Poland. Many of you ask me what happens to Habcia after the end of the journey, so I answer.
The entire process may take approximately 3-4 months. That's why I decided to start the procedure today and we went to the city to arrange as much as possible before my return to Poland.
Habi must undergo a number of vaccinations and tests. I will not describe in detail which ones here. Anyway, there are a lot of them. Unfortunately, I am not able to stay here for that long, so thanks to the kindness of Adrienne, who runs a foundation in Lebanon, we managed to find a temporary family for the dog. Al'aa, who often deals with such cases, will take care of Habcia and take care of all the formalities. I will pay him for food, transport to the clinic and any other costs. You will also need a transport cage. What else? We'll probably find out over time.
When all the tests are OK for Habi, the vet will prepare the documents and register the dog for check-in at the airport. Then I will either fly for Habi or someone will send her away on my behalf. It is difficult to estimate now how much the costs of the entire operation will be? I should stay within the amount of PLN 15,000.
That's it in a nutshell. However, I am calm and feel that everything will work out. For now, the dog has been dewormed and given some other medications, and tomorrow we can return to the trail. The dog's general health is good. He only has a minor skin infection but it's under control. The dog is about 4 years old and weighs 14 kg. She was already a mother in the past 😀
Habi herself endures all inconveniences bravely and patiently. I think it was her first time driving a car. Her tail was tucked up but she was doing really well. He walks calmly on a leash and doesn't break out. She is truly lovely.
I bought her some dog food at the clinic. She probably never ate dry food because when I poured it into her bowl she didn't want to eat it. Only when I crushed one piece for her did she try it and then she noticed that her ears were shaking 😊
When we returned, she started wagging her tail again 😊 Now she has gone to sleep and is resting before tomorrow's hike. I'm going to bed soon too. I'll pack my backpack beforehand so we can set off earlier.
I would also like to thank all of you who support me and offer help. Special thanks to my friend Ewa, who spontaneously organized a collection for the costs related to Habi, and to everyone who supports me financially. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart. Thanks to you, I know that everything will turn out fine.

Lebanese Trail day 13
Stage: Tannorine El Faouga - El-AAgouraa
Daily distance: 31km
Total: 265km
After breakfast with the monks from the monastery where we spent the last two nights, we set off on the trail. We had to cover about 2 km to reach the town of Tannoirine. We stopped by Nancy's house, and two days earlier she had helped us find transport to the clinic. We said goodbye to her and started walking down the valley at the bottom of which we could see the ruins of water mills. Then it was almost all uphill. At times the path ran close to the stream and we were climbing uphill, surrounded by beautiful mountains.
Finally, the path flattened out a bit and we saw a phenomenal waterfall. Although there were crowds of people there admiring this phenomenon, I managed to take a few photos. There I also met a group of French people with whom we spent the night in a monastery a few days earlier. They were happy that the dog was still walking with me.
After a short break, we again entered the steep path which, after a few kilometers, led us to the highest point on the trail, 2073 meters above sea level. We wandered around a bit to get there because the snow covered the signs. It was all downhill from there, although we had to cross the snow lying there. At one point I sank up to my chest in the snow 😁
The camera got all wet when I tried to climb out, but fortunately it dried on the way and works.
The trail only led down a rocky road, we crossed two rushing streams and in wet shoes I reached the end of today's stage. Since it was already after 7 p.m., we had to look for a place to stay overnight. I decided to go even further up the hill to find a place with GSM coverage so that I could watch another section of the Jordanian trail together with the cheerful team. Unfortunately, it didn't work. So we left the road and I pitched my tent on a small patch of flat ground.
Please visit my Facebook page where I try to share current places I visit and, whenever possible, report on my trips.
