Jordan Trail day 35
Stage: Wadi Rum (off-trail)
Distance: 28km
Total distance: 883km
Today, right after breakfast, I went for a "little walk" in the desert. I was accompanied by amazing views. I visited a lot of the most important and beautiful places in Wadi Rum, although there is still a lot to see tomorrow.
The hike itself was very pleasant, only at the main points there was an incredible crowd.
Jordan Trail day 35
Stage: Wadi Rum (off the trail) - Red Desert Camp
Distance: 34km
Total distance: 917km
Today, after breakfast at the camp, I went to the desert. Space swallowed me up. Time ceased to exist and I didn't even notice that I had walked well over 30km.
A lot could be written about this place, but it's best to see and feel it for yourself. Pictures can't show it. Tonight is my last night here and tomorrow I'm back on the trail.
Jordan Trail day 36
Stage: Wadi Rum - Titen
Distance: 36km
Total distance: 953km
In the morning I went to the place where I left the trail two days earlier and headed towards Aqaba. I walked through a crowded and touristy town and entered the desert. After about 3 kilometers I was alone and by the end of the day I didn't meet anyone. I was in great shape today. Thoughts left and I felt part of this place. What I felt is indescribable. Only the road mattered. I even forgot about the camera.
The trail itself ran through the middle of the desert today, straight as if someone had traced it on a ruler. I couldn't wander like that, especially since I'd have to walk some kind of road. So I got off the trail and made my own way. I went from dune to dune, top to top.
When it started to get dusk, it dawned on me that I should think about sleeping. At that exact moment, I saw buildings in the distance. I felt very clearly that I had to go there. Even though the village was visible from a distance, I still had to walk 4 kilometers. I got there after dark and went to the first house. I called Salam Aleikum and heard, Aleikum Salam.
After a while I was sitting in a room where traditionally there was a hearth and I was drinking tea with a few men. After about an hour, I was treated to a delicious dinner. There is something special about these meals. They taste the best.
I sat with these people, listened to their conversations and felt as if I had known them forever. It's wonderful how the road allows me to experience such moments. Thank you with all my heart ❤️
Jordan Trail day 37
Stage: Titen - Aqaba
Distance: 33km
Total distance: 986km
Tonight I was able to stand on the shore of the Red Sea and complete my journey. I have no words to express the gratitude I felt when I reached the finish line. I feel cleansed, calm and extremely calm. I have fulfilled a dream that I have carried in my heart for several years.
Even in my wildest imagination I would not be able to plan what happened to me during this journey. The places, the situation and, above all, the meetings with people were something unique and unusual. The road was difficult but it was worth it because now I feel like a different person. As I mentioned, I feel cleansed and rich in the values that this path has given me. Now I feel calm, there are few thoughts and I don't think it reaches me that this is the end of this adventure. On the other hand, this journey will never end for me, it will last forever in my heart
However, the last day was not easy at all. After the last few days of pleasant hiking in the desert, today the trail reminded me of its tough character.
As I left the village of Titen, I entered a fairly comfortable road and walked briskly forward. After about 4 kilometers the trail turned right and I saw that I would have to cross the mountains. It wasn't easy, but I managed to climb up and down the other side efficiently. . I didn't expect the trail to show a claw here. Going down 500m was very difficult. My shoes, no longer treaded, did not hold me well on small pebbles, so I had to watch every step. Every now and then his foot slid on the floor. The trail surprised me again. I had to climb again to about 800m and again go down a difficult path that was lost among the stones every now and then. On the descent, the Red Sea and the mountains on the side of Egypt and Israel were already visible. I would like to thank you from the heart for a journey together because without you it would be more difficult for me. Every comment, every word of support made me have more strength to go. Thank you with all my heart and hope to see you on the next trail.
