Good ideas! Love it. I’ve done silent prayer, one of my favourites too, I’ve just heard it call listening prayer. I’ll be trying out some of these for sure!

Great video! Your videos always inspire me and teach me, it’s always good to hear from other Christians and not feel so alone in my walk (especially during this time of COVID a when I feel especially isolated from others). God bless you!

When I hear sitting in silence and listening to God, are you referring to meditating on Scripture (Psalm 1:1-2)? I don't trust myself or my mind to sit in silence for any amount of time honestly.

That's definitely one of the supporting verses! I'd encourage you to try it, every time a sinful thought comes to your mind, just ask God to take it away and refocus your heart on him :) you can do it!

Who is God? What does God do? What is that say about me? What is my response base on the scripture read?

Thank you for the video I needed ideas cause I'm a complete starter and I have no clue where to start. Like I was planning to start from the old testiment until the new testiment to revolation. Like go in a proper book reading way order. But, others say to start at psalms or other chapters.
Hey Isaac, I’ve been watching your channel for a while now and I’ve been wondering. Which group of Christianity does your channel focus on? Or does it just focus on Christianity as a whole rather than specific faiths? I’m Catholic and I was just wondering. Thanks for another great video! ✝️🙏

Idea #2 Grab a Commentary. So instead of going to the Word of God for commentary you want people to go to someone else for commentary. So basically your foundation for scripture isn't scripture but the commentary of a man. Idea #4 Invite a Friend. I hope this "friend" is a born again Christian or otherwise the conversation isn't going to be about discussing the Bible but instead discussing how he's a sinner who needs to come to repentance, grief and godly sorrow of wrong doing, and believe on our Lord Jesus Christ. Idea #6 Silent Prayer. Exactly what we are suppose to do every time. Matthew 6:6; "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."

#2 The letter to the Hebrew church is a commentary on the Old Testament. Should we throw it out because it’s the commentary by a man? We should just go to the OT ourselves ... right?
@SilasCole88

@@memowilliam9889 Oh my, a Catholic. Yes, we should throw it out because man is fallible and God isn't. And yes, we should go to the OT ourselves because we don't need a guru to tell us what the OT or NT says. Are you not capable of reading anything for yourself? 2 Timothy 2:15, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." Isaiah 28:9-10, "Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:" I would also highly recommend you look at "Corruptions of Christianity: Catholicism" creationliberty.com/articles/religioncatholic.php

Bro. It's okay to read other people's commentaries on the bible XD what's so wrong with being exposed to things we might not have thought of on our own?
@SilasCole88
Жыл бұрын
@@nocturne2029 Because of 2 Peter 1:20, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation." And because the Bible tells us how to read it, Isaiah 28 "Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little...the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken." You don't need men to tell you what the Bible says because the Bible is clear enough on it's own. If you go to men to tell you what the Bible says then you also violate 2 Timothy 3:16-17, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." When you go to men you are allowing them to dictate to you doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness. Look at Brandon Robertson on youtube as a prime example of allowing a man to give you doctrine, reproof, correction, and instruction in righteousness and see for yourself how dangerous it is to go to "other people's commentaries on the Bible." But there again what bible you use also matters when pertaining to these verses that I've mentioned.
