@aaron-gz

I think the last story the guy had a dangerous amount of nostalgia and homesickness. The guy must have been lonely and missed old times a bit too much. He was the one that set up the meeting after all. Then this sleepover party he had planned got "ruined" because there was someone out of the status quo. In his mind, it needed to be a perfect recreation of old times and because of his own outburst he actually ruined it. Watching the bubble he was living in fall apart and his friends looking at him in a different way, he lost it further. Don't know why he would think attacking the old friend would help. After that, once he lost contact with everyone he must have thought there was nothing left for him and deleted all social media and everything that would remind him of the past. Quite tragic but an unfair reaction. He could have still enjoyed his time at home with old friends. Just one would be busy.
@chopsandtoots
9 ай бұрын
People need to understand that while you can't bring back the past and relive those "old good times", you can form new memories that are just as precious. Living in the present and taking it all in day by day is just the way to vibe imo. My guess is mid life crisis too.
@DynamicOwl13
9 ай бұрын
To be able to get his old friends together was actually very fortunate. You think maybe this person may have some narcissistic traits? I hate throwing that label around because there could be other reasons that led this person to act like that.
@chopsandtoots
9 ай бұрын
@@DynamicOwl13I think we need to stop using therapy speak and trying to diagnose people based on a single story. He was most likely just lonely and unhappy. A lot of people get stuck in the past instead of trying to make new memories and focusing on the present. I've also heard of people doing wild things when they get hit with a mid life crisis as well.
@aaron-gz
9 ай бұрын
@@chopsandtoots I also had some similar feelings of staying in the past and that's why that last story stuck with me. Not to the point of hurting my friends, mind you. You have a point, it's not necessarily a condition or anything of the sort. The OP of the story mentioned it wasn't like him to be that way. He must have gone through a lot and tried to reach out to old friends but turned it into an obsession. All we gotta say is the same last words OP said, hopefully he is getting the help he needs.

Story 5, what the hell is wrong with the parents, especially the mother? Like how could she let her kids, I don't care if they were 18 or 19, go off with an obvious sketchy strange man? It just made no sense. And then the dad didn't stop this from happening. He's OP and her sister's father, he is supposed to protect them, instead he did what his wife and oldest daughter wanted. It's obvious that he has no spine. Hopefully he has a spine now. The 4 of them are very lucky to be alive. It almost sounded something to do with human trafficking. I wouldn't be surprised if it had been. Hopefully the sister makes better choices now. And the last story it seemed like Brian wanted the group of friends to be like it was back in high school. I mean he didn't want any spouses or partners to be in this little get together. He didn't like that OP had his wife with him. That is just what I got from this. Just sounded like he never really moved on from high school. I could be wrong but that's just what I got.

Even if made-up, I do have to wonder about family abduction story: 1) Sister makes horrible life choices and you all knew that beforehand. 2) What did your parents tell all of you? Never take candy from strangers (or get in a car with a stranger offering candy, in my case), 3) What motivated the abductors to abandon their charges? Were they smarter than that family, perhaps discerning that they were being tricked - or did they abduct the wrong people? The World will Never Know....

idk why the person at the hotel who was gambling didn't call the front desk to tell them that a man is trying to get in their room. idk why someone would just try and sleep. I assume he probably wanted to rob her and he wasn't actually flirting etc. He tried to get her to his room to rob her and when that didn't work he tried to break into her room, but why wouldn't you call the front deck. casinos have security guards who could have got rid of this guy. it makes no sense why someone would just try to ignore them.
