Close to me there is a contractor that has one of the first 7530's sold here in Finland. Now it has almost 20 000 hours on it and he says that it is the best deere he's ever had. Engine and transmission are unopened, there has never been any problem with them. Contractor said that he will have that tractor as long as he lives.

Brazing can be stronger than the steel, but it needs to be a LAP JOINT... IOW, an overlapping piece of metal spanning over the joint. Butt joints (like the broken ends your fixing) is actually the weakest joint in brazing. A lap joint properly brazed is stronger than the parent steel underneath the brazing. Later! OL J R :)

Two kind of people: The ones that have machines and never breaks em as they use em 20hrs a year, and the ones that need to have them machines do all the work they bought em for in the first place. Some keyboard-rambo will argue that there's a 3rd kind (the kind that don't have machine and/or only operates them as a job. Never even check oil or grease em. Can't even switch tire unless it takes the whole day because he does not work beyond sun-set.... as if they would dare to even move in the dark, their dim-lighten brain would become just bright enough for them to maybe react) But I said TWO kind.... I don't wanna talk about any TURD kind (3rd/trolls/etc) ;)

For me the seat in the small JD 7000 premium series were not most comfortable seats JD ever had. That top bulge where it says john deere always rubbed my back , my back got sore if I had a long day in that tractor. That annoyed me to no end. Finally I just traded her off to a large frame JD 7000..

Brazing is hard!! In the old days, in high school AG class, you had to learn to use the torch before you could learn to stick weld. TIG was new age, and to expensive to be considered by most. The basics are probably lost now of days. Great job!!

If my memory serves from my welding class way back, brazing is weaker than welding, especially with right angle breaks as the strength is in the brazing material only, not in the original material. Welding restores (and improve) the original material strength in the break, while brazing is just laying on top, resulting in a fairly weak joint (though it works fine if you are laying two materials on top of each other as it works as a adhesive, rather than a strength member. ) We were recommended to only use brazing if there is a reason you can't weld, like different materials.

Well atleast it was only the seat, Something I've seen on a few air seats on a couple brands of tractor JD being one. Is around 3000-4000 hrs the wires that work the air seat compressor inside the base flex, where they are cable tied to the suspension pivot point linkages and eventually break. Then the seat don't work, one day when you go to adjust it. You may or may not find the fuse blows i've seen some didn't blow when the seat quit. Maybe when the rush is over it might be worth pulling the rubber covers down and checking them out. It's a real pain in the ass to fix as the easiest way is pull the whole seat and work on it on the bench. It's not something to be fixing when you really need the tractor in busy times like the ones I did for guys.

First i thought, wth did they broke this Time? The Engine? Ah, so only the Seat. I dont like these Grammer seats in the Mannheim tractors, they are too firm (or to hard, dont know how to describe this)for my ass, the Sears Seats in the Waterloo tractors are and always were WAY better.

I feel for you we have had 3 weeks of rain more or less in the UK so cultivator has been impossible and really we should be seed wheat over the next 3 weeks. No wheels have turn really most of September. Harvest was ok great start but bloody rain in the middle of August lost quality in the wheat and slowed things up for many. The weather is the gamble we live with 😂 As for the 7530 at lease it's the seat to me that's not a big issue as you said, but generally the bit that matter engine and drive train and fairly solid.

Fix it right, fix it ONCE ! I'd fabricate a new piece for the seat out of thicker, tougher metal. The factory piece is either too thin for that application or made from inferior metal . Two repairs = too many. It seems that the loan of the tedder came at the perfect time. It's seen a lot of use this season because of the frequent rain. Nice video Wes.

To really make it last you should bend a 3 mm piece of Steel over itself and slide it on and then braze it making sure the brazing runs all the way inside what you can do better with bronze, not sure about nickel silver, nickel silver is a harder material I can see why you used it, sometimes hard materials as you say like welding can be a mistake on thin pieces of metal because they have more tendency to crack even nickel silver then say like bronze will not crack as much they will flex? Find something when you bend the metal over like a drill bit that's the same thickness or you actually use that piece of metal to bend the sheath and give it a final squeeze in the voice for snug Fit. but brazing inside the sheath first before putting on even soldering would do the trick if people haven't got a and acetylene torch don't forget to use plenty of flux though and tin your surface and your sheath
