Princess Anne has to be one of my all time favourites in my garden. It is on its second flush and I've never seen so many blooms. As you said, the fragrance is really nice and drifts a long way as I can often smell it when I'm weeding. Your James Galway looks stunning. Another one for my to buy list! The rose that I remember my grandma having was New Dawn and everytime that I smell it, I get transported back to that era.

You know Wendy, Princess Anne didn’t flower for me for 3 years. I spoke to David Austin about it too. And then one year it just started blooming like crazy and hasn’t stopped since. Is New dawn repeat flowering? I have heard about it and was thinking about it for my fence but then decided to go with all DA roses.

Isn't it strange how roses can perform differently in our gardens as my Princess Anne bloomed from the very start and just gets better and better every year. I think I may have improved my pruning technique though as I used to be too timid thinking I'd harm the rose but watching so much KZitem, I've seen that a good prune works a treat. My New Dawn hasn't given me second flushes but I've read that it is a repeat flowering rose. I just love the smell and colour of it. It's funny but my brother leaves his roses alone in his wild garden and they look way better than mine so perhaps I molly coddle them too much in my liking for a neater garden! Glad to hear that your Princess Anne has taken off at last. @@AmritaBhortake

@@charlyshakari Awww thanks so much! That really means a lot. I grew my DA roses in pots for 4 years before I moved them into the ground. Just make sure you water them deeply and fertilize them regularly and they will thrive.

Wonderful video. Wait until your Gertrude Jekyll gets to three years old in your garden. It will be magnificent. We have similar taste in Barbie core roses 💕💕💕

Hi Francis, it would depend on your zone and microclimate. What zone are you planning to grow these in and how much sun/ shade will the area have?

@@AmritaBhortake im in zone 10A, i just noticed that they are all almost in the same color spectrum but not sure which one will be the best to have, but id like to hear your own personal choice if ur to pick only one out of the 3 since youve seen them and smelled them.

@@francisglenfiddich168 Francis, personally, I have only grown the Princess Anne rose amongst the three of them so I can talk about that but I would definitely recommend Princess Anne as it's been really prolific in my garden. It didn't do well for the first 2 and half years but once it started blooming, it's been absolutely gorgeous. The smell is also really amazing.
