Thanks Chris, we are enjoying this brewing journey and I guess it comes across 😀 Regarding the app I guess it's at least 6 months away for apple phones.... or you could see the light and buy an android phone! 😉

Thanks for the kind words. I'm struggling with a video at the moment so it is just the tonic I needed. Good luck with your brews, what will be your first in the klarstein?🍻

Amarillo single hop ale from Greg Hughes book. It’s the first BIAB I ever did and tasted fantastic, so I have high hopes!

Hey guys, you along with a few other channels inspired me to get into all grain brewing. Do you have any tips on how to effectively calculate how many aroma hops you need In brews? Cheers from Liam in Wrexham 🏴

Hey Liam, say hello to the captain for me. This one is a tough question and I guess it's all subjective. Trial and error. Brew and see what you like, we started by following recipes then slowly going off pist. I know this doesn't help greatly but enjoy the process.... cheers🍻

You said you had kegs. are they the 20L ones as you have 70L or the 4L ones? what is your setup, how do you keep’em cold? do you naturally carbonate or force carbonate? 😮😅😊
@TheGingerBrewers
Жыл бұрын
@@Oldsaintnick1 We have 3 types of kegs. Second hand 5 litre mini kegs, 4/5 litre Stainless steel kegs with tap setup and 23 litre kegs with gas in and gas out posts. We naturally carbonate them all but have on occasion force carbonated the SS kegs in the fridge. To keep them cold if the won't fit in the fridge, we just store them in the garage then stand them in a bucket of ice water a couple of hours before serving. There is a video on the mini keg and the ss kegs in the back catalogue 😉😉

DIMETHYL SULPHIDE (DMS) - is normally described as creamed corn or cooke veggies (like cabbage). This can be avoid by having a good rolling boil and without a lid on the boiling kettle!

Just goes to show the commercial breweries get it wrong sometimes. Perhaps they are cutting back on electricity usage? Thanks for the comment LaPinta. Cheers🍻

@@TheGingerBrewers yeah, my guess would be either that or a poorly engineered boiling kettle that allows the steam condensation to drip down in the kettle. Cheers and congrats on your new brewing system!

@@TheGingerBrewers btw the wheel pulleys are set up perfectly for the 1:3 mechanical advantage as you showed on the video…but keep in mind that the more you deviate from 0° angle when pulling, the greater will be the loss on that advantage 😊 love your vida, keep them coming!

What is max malt and water can put in 70l Klarstein?
@TheGingerBrewers
Жыл бұрын
Hi, we haven't pushed it right up to the max yet. The most we have done is 9kg for 80 pints. As long as you can lift it you could put 20kg of grain easily.
